How does the game fit the theme?
Lighthouse on the Lake is set in a lighthouse — an isolated, liminal structure on a lake, far from anywhere familiar. Each time you climb, the room above may have changed, or it may not. You never know what to expect, or whether to trust what you see. That uncertainty is what makes it a strange place.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

This was a cool game! I always love the spooky sea type games and the ambience was pretty good, I liked trying to spot the differences though it was pretty difficult. I did find that the game ran really slowly for me. Good work!
I really liked it a lot! However there was some ,anomaly that I kept getting which I still don't know what it was. The room looked perfectly normal and so I didn't flip the lever and I was reset anyways. I then started marking all the ones I thought looked normal as wrong and I got reset then as well. Other than that, great game, the idea, execution, and presentation were all great!
This is a great entry! I didn't encounter much anomalies in my playthrough. i think I only saw 1 or 2 rooms that were anomalies. I think maybe instead of a random chance for an individual room to be an anomaly, there should be a fixed number of anomaly rooms (say 3-5) and you just scramble their order of appearance.
The visuals were awesome, but the FPS was quite pathetic for me, and I would consider my computer to be pretty decent, so there are definitely some optimizations to improve.
The game is very interesting! nice atmosphere
For the life of me I couldn't notice even one change lol. One thing I would say is that when you make a mistake and return, it weird that you need to make another choice - it doesn't give you the oppurtinity to learn the room again
I appriciated that the rooms seem to be not random, and so I could brute force the solution if I want it. Nice work!
Great game! From the very first time I climbed the stairs, I immediately understood what the game was about. You definitely did a good job with the sound design, and the visuals, while not perfect, aren't jarring and have a certain charm. Overall, everything is fine; just make the "anomalies" more obvious and it will be awesome.
Thank you for your feedback! If I have time I will try to make them a little more obvious in the future
Very nice! I've always been a fan of anomaly games, though, so I'm a bit biased. I enjoyed it a lot!! Would've been nice to see some kind of ending screen, like a view of the ocean from the top of the lighthouse!
Congratulations on the game. It's quite intriguing. It took me a while to understand the room patterns to know when to pull the green lever.
Thanky you! Yeah some changes are very subtle
Really solid! sounds and anomalies were nice and varied, good creepy atmosphere too.
Thank you!
I really like the level repeat mechanic. I usually don’t play horror games, so that scream really caught me off guard
Thank you and sorry for the jumpscare :D
I've played quite a few horror games during this jam and this might have been the scariest one yet. That scream really unsettled me. Very well executed, I didn't quite get all the anomalies, I think I got lucky a few times but it was great
Thank you man!
i came from the what went wrong for u and the windows build worked for me. anyway, i like the low-poly visuals and the flickering eerie effect everytime u went up the stairs. u have to pay attention to ur surroundings which is a very cool concept and the setting follows the theme. the scream somehow caught me off guard... if i had to think of an improvement, i would say add more anomalies bc tbh it just seems to repeat. overall, really amazing game!
Fortunally I was told that it was broken an fixed it (after the first 1.5 days). Thanks for playing! Planned to add more anomalies but had no time left.
Maybe I will after the jam if people like the game
I really liked it! It gave me strong anomaly-style vibes. The atmosphere was great.
Great game for solo dev!
thank you!
I liked it! It feels like an anomaly-style concept game. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the creepy vibe. Even though there were no monsters, I found myself closing my eyes because I was expecting a jump scare 😬
Overall, it’s a good game. Keep it up!
thank you!
Nice and challenging game. I like how it puts you straight into the action. The light flicker each level is really cool. The transition between levels is so smooth. Great work!
Thanks you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it
I really enjoyed the game! It definitely wasn’t easy to make it all the way to the end, but that challenge made the run feel super rewarding. I’m also really curious how you pulled off the repeating rooms. The transitions were incredibly smooth and seamless. Nicely done overall!
Thank you! It is always the same room. The transition is a teleport back. I tried to hide it by making the spot very dark and also fade to black in that moment.
Great execution of an anomaly style game! I think the room size was good for a game jam. Some of the differences felt quite difficult at first but I adjusted and got to the top, so difficulty was pretty spot on! The lighthouse setting worked well, and the light between levels was very atmospheric. Nice job!
It confused me a bit at first, honestly. I think it could be really helpful to be able to go back and look at the room again, which would make it easier to find the differences but great job, congratulations!
Thanks! Yes maybe a bit too obscure. Will try to add a little more instructions
