It seems I did something wrong, because the stone face did not move. But I tried again, restarted the game and now everything is fine. The dialogue is annoying, but the idea is interesting. The art and sound design are well done.

Really clever idea for a platformer. The little miner character is quite cute. Good job on making the jumping/platforming feel natural (a lot of jam games struggle with this). Had a couple times where the boulders collided with each other when it looked like they should have cleared each other, might need a pixel or two leeway so that when they do collide its clear they should have, though it didn't really impact my progress at all, more so a polish thing. Great job!

Cool concept and solid execution.

Especially impressive for a solo dev, it feels polished and well put together.
The puzzles are fun, and the number of levels is great.
Nice work!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.

Wow, this one is nuts for a first jam.

This was paced insanely well. It kept introducing just enough to stay interesting without ever feeling overwhelming. Every puzzle felt fair, and I when I figured something out it felt earned, not accidental. Really good level and puzzle design.

This was done so cleanly. The visuals are nice, the boulder SFX are oddly satisfying, and the overall length was perfect for a jam. Then you throw in B-sides on top of that? Wild.

I could play so much more of this. Really impressive.

Clever idea and fun puzzles! I wasn't able to get that far but it was nice having some easier puzzles up front and seeing complexity introduced along the way.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing anyway, means alot!

Pretty difficult, but a fun puzzle game! I managed to get the diamond. Haven't tried the B-side yet, though. Great work overall, and nice pixel art!

Developer

Congrats on beating the game! Many thanks for playing, it means alot. :)

Visuals: Great artstyle. Very consistent.

Audio: Player actions had amazing audio feedback. I would personally prefer louder and more pronounced background music.

Gameplay: The difficulty scales too quickly too early. More example levels need to be in place before ramping up into moving blocks, timing block movement, and solving the overall puzzle.

Overall: Awesome game jam game! I look forward to seeing what you develop in the future. I'm sure it'll be delightfully frustrating lmao

Developer

Wow, thank you so much for this constructive feedback! I agree that the levels do ramp up quickly in difficulty. I wish I had more time to make more levels (there were originally meant to be 15, but I ran out of time LOL). I really appreciate the time you took to play my game and write this comment, and I will definitely use this feedback in my future projects. Good luck with the jam! :D

Super fun game! I got stuck pretty quickly, but I loved the idea and it was a really fun mix of platforming and puzzle.

Developer

Thank you! The levels definitely need to be a bit simpler now that I think about it LOL. Good luck with the game jam! :)

Man I really liked this game, I loved the little platformer experience and I was really invested in the miner's journey. In one of the levels (I think the second one), the spikes don't kill you; for that reason, I thought that it was like spelunky when you can go up to the spikes and go through them without getting damaged as long as you don't jump on them, but no the spikes worked fine in the rest of the levels so I felt like I was trolled lolol.
Were the B-sides a reference to Celeste? I love that game man, cheers!
Overall, great game! Good luck with the jam

Thank you so much for playing! Yea, the B-Sides are a reference to Celeste LOL. They were just extra content I felt was too difficult for first time players. Also, thanks for the feedback, I'll look into it, good luck with the jam as well! :D
