Woah, that’s a really long title. Cool platformer with both ranged and melee attack mechanics, and I like the dash with i-frames too. The boss fight at the end was a nice touch. The pixel art is really good and the cover art too. The ending is pretty funny. Solid work!

Cute platformer game. Having backspace as shoot button was certainly a choice. I liked the artstyle. Good work!

That title is surely one hell of a ride! What can i say, the girl is cute, 10/10. Jokes aside, while i enjoyed the game i felt like the commands and the keys associated with them weren't the best, in particular with the dash and the melee attack so maybe you could add an option for the players to change the original bindings. I feel like using some mouse inputs could possibly alleviate this problem. Good job! Chek out our game if you have time!

I really liked the artstyle and the gameplay is solid. P.S, the title drew me to the game ;)

Smooth controls and quite a chill vibe as well,  visuals are stunning in this game.
The name is huge, it's funny that Play game button on this submission page couldn't contain all text lol, great job though!

This is a really nice entry! Graphics are really nice, I especially need to praise how much effort has been put into drawing the main character, with all the animations and cuteness. The game looks really good with the artstyle. Gameplay-wise, it's also nice to play, yet I think the difficulty needs to be fine-tuned for a bit. But the boss fight is really cool though!

Other things I like:

  • Cute player character
  • Silly lore for the mattresses
  • Character controls are smooth, yet the key bindings might need to be changed
  • Melee using a chair looks super cool and funny

Suggestions:

  • Pressing Backspace to shoot is a bit awkward. It lies on the far end of the keyboard, not near anything else. Consider using other control schemes instead
  • The boss fight needs some rebalancing giving how quickly the bullets move. I mastered the bullet positions after a couple of tries, but it still felt a bit unfair
  • Attack animation length could be shortened a bit for some snappier controls

Anyway, I think you all still did a wonderful job making this game. Keep up the good work!

Nice game! The art and music are great, and the level design is pretty challenging, those mattresses move way faster than I expected. The boss fight is a bit short, but those bullets are tricky to dodge. They kind of reminded me of primal aspid. Fun game overall!

At first I nearly gave up on this game, because the controls were really hard to manage. After reading the comments on some of the other reviews about how you used a library for controllers, I thought "Why not?" and plugged in a controller to see if it worked. After button mashing a bit to figure out the mapping, I found the controller setup to be pretty good, and played the game through to the end. It's much more workable with a controller, and you should mention that somewhere on the game page :P

The platforming felt tight, and once I stopped trying to fight every enemy moving through the levels felt good. The boss was pretty tough, but satisfying to finally beat.

P.S. For anyone else wondering, I've got an old Steam controller (so X-box style A/B/X/Y) and found the controls to be:

  • Move: L-Stick or D-Pad
  • Jump: A
  • Chair: X
  • Gun: B
  • Dash: Left trigger

Great game! I've enjoyed it! Controls are a bit uncomfortable for the hand. Using right shift and ctrl makes it a bit better though.

Interesting lore and gameplay. I completed up to the level where a flying super-matras was spawning and an endless wave of angry matrases. That one turned out to be too challenging. The art is really cool. I wish there were a way to rebind keys. You can’t imagine how hard it is to press Ctrl+A on a MacBook. And Ctrl + ➡️ isn’t an option either, because it switches your desktops. Otherwise, it was a fun experience.

Love long titles! Love the art! Love the theme! I’m obsessed!!!!😍😍😍

As someone who also wanted to go with a really long title but chickened out at the end great job XD The art style is cute and the music is excellent. As most mentioned the controls could use a bit of work but otherwise amazing job, despite the controls the platforming feels good!

Hi Duck, it's cattus who made the music. Thank you very much for liking the game. Maybe next jam you could make a game title longer than us XDD

Ohh maaaan. I enjoyed the game till I got to the boss fight. Whyyyyy, WHY the gun is under backspace of all the keys available on the keyboard o.O? why not put jump on up arrow and let us fire with space? IF not for that minute decision I would absolutely love it, platformers are my fav genrea. But nothenless I like wacky ideas, thejapanese novel like title made me laugh, and the art reminded me a lot of Pizza Tower. I only hope you guys will update the controls after the jam is over or even better include controller support as it is the superior way to play this sort of games. Solid entry ;)

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the controls were...subpar, to say the least so i'll try explaining what happened a bit quickly

- I used a library for the input so that the game also had some neat gamepad controls and such

- I mapped it to backspace cuz it was also gonna be used for leaving submenus on a menu and stuff, and I thought "well I will probably have time to add key rebinding at the end right?"

- turns out, I didn't, so I ended up leaving the control scheme in there

yeah, basically it was all due to time constraints, and we are planning to fix that on a post jam update alongside some bugs and unimplemented assets lol

Thats great news! I will definitely try again. I have a bone to pick with the guy on the matress :P I really tried to beat them I really did. What engine did you guys made the game in ?

Developer(+1)

we made the game in gamemaker ^^

Very funny and unserious idea lol

I'm sorry to say I absolutely hate the controls. Backspace, left shift and left control, that's just a really odd choice. The mattresses that defy gravity were confusing to me, because I assumed they would stay defying gravity or you could also somehow do that, but them just falling off just didn't seem intuitive.

Thanks for submitting, good luck with the jam!

Developer(+1)
