This is really nice. I like the mechanics, they feel very good. I also Really like the audio and art. I think the only thing that bothers me is that if you lose your 3 lives you restart the level. Personally, I like to have infinite tries without level restarts. Of course this is just my personal preference, and I know some people who prefer it the way it is.

It is also very impressive that you managed all of this in just a week!

Overall, very good job!

20TH RATING!!!! Congrats!!!!

This game is FANTASTIC!!!! The wall-walking and dash-as-attack mechanics make the movement feel unique and satisfying, and Alcor is ridiculously charming!!! cute animations and expressive sounds really give the character personality. The visuals are polished, the music fits perfectly, and the combat/beam feels rewarding when you line it up right. Only minor things: the tutorial section could use a checkpoint, and a few enemies feel a bit punishing mid-beam, but those don’t take away from how smooth and fun this game is overall. Truly impressive for a solo jam entry.

ALSO, if you like brain-teasing puzzle platformers, make sure to check out our game! We'd be really really grateful

This game is ridiculously charming. The intro/cutscene art is really nicely done, and Alcor as a character is adorable, especially the little dash that lowkey gives Kirby vibes lol.

Movement feels great too. Wall-walking is such a fun mechanic, and it feels snappy once you get the hang of bouncing between surfaces. Dash being both movement and an attack is a super cool choice, and the BEAM (aka the Blasting Energy Annihilation Move XD) is satisfying to use. The music is chill, and the little character noises add a lot of personality.

All in all: super cute, smooth to play, and really impressive as a solo jam game.

Really well done!! I enjoyed it a lot! I just think a checkpoint could have helped in that tutorial section where you need to dash between two spikes, but maybe that was just my lack of skill lol.

The gameplay is very smooth for a jam, very good job. I like the pixel art, it is cute. However, the scenery and environment are not as good as the character and its animations (which are really great). Oh, and the music is cool and chill. Anyway Good work, and I see you are alone, it's impressive !

This game immediatley charmed me from the get go. I LOVE the character and the animations, the implementation is buttery smooth, Alcors glow is warm and comforting and the abilities are solid. The movement is frictionless and I really like your drawn out tutorial section.

I have a few suggestions for things that would help the user experience. You are probably aware of some of this but I'll say it anyway because I really love the style and the setting of this and I hope you continue working your magic on it.

1. You should freeze the enemies on the spot or bounce them back for a fraction of a second while your BEAM is frying them, I kept dying because (for instance) I wanted to jump over them and beam down, but they would just swim and hit me from below while I mid -beam (This happened in other directions too). This could be intentional and a "Get good" moment, but regardless it didnt feel right, I felt like I wasnt being rewarded with positive feedback for lining up a clean shot.

2. Over checkpoint the primary tutorial section, I really dont want to move through that opening section over and over again if I die to the first spike gap or to the part that teaches me about the dashes to recover BEAM. This section should be risk free imo.

I hope you take this in good faith, the game is really charming and feels fantastic to play, but those two tiny things really put a damper on the onboarding.

Wow, this is such a cool game! I like the wall movement, it's genius! Also I love how you mixed the concept of the star from 2 very different places! The star animations are also really cute, especially the dash! Oh, and the dash as an attack is so unique! (at least it's the first time I see something like that). I can't imagine making such a cool game as a solo developer! Nice job!

This is a gold star of a game :D

Good job on your solo game! The mechanics feel solid, and dash as attack and walking on walls are pretty interesting features.

I had a lot of fun with this! The wall running and dashing made for some interesting movement, and even though it felt a bit awkward at times, I like that you incorporated some basic combat too. There's a lot to admire here, especially for a week-long jam!

Love the art style! Great job :)

The  art and sound effects are really nice! I like how I can  walk on walls. There's a glitch when you press space and dash quickly in a row that makes the player launch really fast

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and commenting on my game. The glitch you have described was left as a feature. It happens when you jump right after dashing and you can actually do it twice in a row to jump even higher.

Really cute art! Good job! love love the starry theme <3 its so cute and enjoyable
I found it a bit hard to play through D: (but maybe im just bad at platform games ;-;)

Developer(+2)

Thank you! I appreciate that you like the art.

Incredible art and movement! A bit frustrating with no checkpoints, but visually, it’s absolutely stunning.

Your game doesn't pull punches haha. I like the movement of the character and the art. Personally, I would have liked a checkpoint of some sort after the first big obstacle. Dying and fully resetting to the start is kinda harsh. I don't know why, but I kinda expected the sharks to die faster.
