Nice work! I particularly liked the artwork and the variation in the characters

Pretty interesting, I liked the art. Was a bit confused at the start but got the hang of it almost instantly heh. Maybe should've read the game page more. Managed to cheese the game early on by giving them the same grassy planet and 3 fees. It kept consistently getting me 3 stars and allowed me to go through the first section. I liked the ability to move the UI but found it sorta disappointing that I couldn't move the main panel cause it obscured the art of one of the aliens (the Rorminian). At the end scene, I failed due to not reaching the rating quota but it didn't actually show me what quota I needed to pass which would've been nice to have.

I found an exploit where when you submit an invoice, there's a period of time before the person leaves where you can just spam the spend button. There's also one where you can also give infinite perks, allowing for infinite 5 stars when needed. Combining the two, you are unstoppable.

Great game though! I liked the concept of the different species having different preferences and having to understand the locations to sell to the people. Sadly, I am a scummy saleswoman.

Thanks so much for playing (and finding more bugs to fix ๐Ÿ›.) I'll be sure to update the game page to at least show off all the species to mitigate future employees concerns about not being able to see our clientele ๐Ÿ˜‰. Thanks again for giving it a shot and the great feedback

Very entertaining. I think the economy and the location rolls could be balanced a little better, but I really enjoyed this one. Good entry!

Developer

I agree I wish I had some more time to fine tune! But thanks for checking is out.

I like it!

Thank you!

Had some trouble getting the game to work as intended. Couldn't plan the first strangecation and the music just cut on out of nowhere half way through clicking around on the screen

Developer

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that ๐Ÿ˜”. What browser were you on? Maybe it's something I can troubleshoot

Submitted

Edge is the browser, best of luck!

Developer

Gotcha I'll look into it and see if I can fix it before the bug fix window is closed! If you try on another browser I hope you can get to play it properly!

Very cool, the aesthetic and visuals are excellent!

I really liked how the game looked, the UI was very responsive and I think the fact you could move the windows around was an epic touch!! I did find some of the requirements to be a bit confusing, I may be dumb but I couldn't tell if for example a persons size was large would it mean they prefer lower or higher gravity planets?? Sometimes it also felt like temperature was the most important factor and I was getting 4.5 stars just from that (other stuff probably contributed I just missed it lol). But overall a fun game I really like the idea and you guys did an awesome job!!!! I Got to day 6 before I was fired :)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! There is definitely a lot of room for improvement to make telegraphing wants a bit more intuitive but I'm glad you had fun regardless! Congrats on making it (nearly) a week

Very cool worldbuilding and artwork! Really fantastic job and novel concept! I especially like the character artwork.

Thanks so much for playing and glad you had a good time!

Really enjoyed this. I love the ui. Look, sound everything. Good job all.

Thanks so much for playing!

Great game! I didn't manage to get anything lower than 3 stars in 7 days, the scenarios were very intuitive, amazing work!

Lovely game with a silly and novel concept. I think the descriptions of wants to planets was pretty good. I think it would have been a worse game if I could know for certain what the outcome of a proposal would be.

I did run into a bug however. Looks like I smashed the quota but got fired anyway. I've already applied to Distant Holiweirdays Co. will be taking my skills elsewhere.

All things considered. Great jam entry. Thanks for sharing.

Fired for 2.5 stars

Ah, that is it. I was confused cuz it said "did not meet quota". Good catch.

well done!

This game is so good I have no clue how you did this.

Cool concept.  Really consistent style that made me feel like I was a real life space travel agent!  Fits the theme really well.  I was intrigued and wanted to keep playing it :)

It was a little confusing to figure out what some of the clients were asking for. For example there was a request to go polar diving or something.  Is there an encyclopedia where I could have looked that up? I assumed the client wanted a cold planet, but then they were also a snake, so they didn't like the cold planet I gave them. Is there some logic to prevent conflicting requirements like that? Or maybe I just misunderstood the requirements.  On the other hand it's kinda fun to have clients that are picky and don't know what they want, so I understand this is a tricky thing to balance!

Unfortunately I think there is a bug where I never kept the money I made on the previous day.  My account balance was always $0, which meant I couldn't interact with the shop.  I couldn't meet the quota for day 2, I'm not sure if access to the shop would have helped me solve that?

Great work team!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! HR has heard peoples complaints and have fixed payroll ๐Ÿ˜‰. You are right though balancing all the factors is kind of a nightmare. Hope we can tighten it up after submission period is over! Also the Quota for day 2 was input wrong so maybe give it another go! Thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

Okay I got to day 3 this time! But only reached about half of what I needed for the quota so possibly that needs to be fixed as well?

My account balance was stuck at $851 the whole time and the buy buttons in the shop did not work. :(

There is also a bug where the activity doesn't populate that happened a few times this playthrough.

I'm still enjoying this game though! So I'll keep coming back to play it if HR keeps addressing my concerns haha

Developer(+1)

HR has heard your complaints and has worked tirelessly to rectify these bugs in the system.

Seriously though thanks for playing and helping us iron out the wrinkles!

The HR department at Strangecation was one of the best I've worked with, 10/10. During my most recent employment, I was able to make it to Day 9  before missing the quota but I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company while it lasted.

Awesome game & well done with the fixes! :D

The Game was very fun to Play and looks amazing. I dont know what the perks and fees tab is for and whs my balance stays at 0000,00$. Great Game after all.

Developer

Thanks for checking us out! The balance not updating is a bug that has been fixed if you'd like to try again. The fees and perks are helpful for later in the game as they boost money but effect the customers rating of you. Sorry that should be more clear!

Submitted (1 edit)

Yeah Sure. I'll definetly give it another try. Wait can you change the File even during Voting??

Developer

It says you can make changes for bug fixes only for the first 48 hours!

Game files are not locked for the first 48 hours of the rating period. This is for fixing bugs and adding alternative platform support. Don't use this feature to otherwise update your game. After the rating period is over, if you wish to continue working on your game, please keep the original jam version as an alternative download.
