hey so this was a lot of fun. i wanna learn how to do 3d stuff in godot that looks like that, thanks for the inspo :)
Thank you! learning to write shaders is very rewarding
Nice to have a good relaxing game every once in a while. This was great.
Thank you! Love a bit of relaxing while constantly on the edge of freezing to death!
I think I ended up with 22 meter. Was that good? Or maybe it was 2.2 xD.
I love first person games that are relaxing. This is probably the fourth first person game here and you have won my heart.
However, I would love some more challenges with QTEs.
Regardless, great game and great visuals and sound designing!
Thank you! 22 meters would've been super mega impressive, so I think it was 2.2. Glad you liked it! The QTEs could have done more for sure
You are a good graphic designer, Dithering snow wind looks great! the mechanics are nice and simple, the map edge is fog with is a nice touch instead of an invisible wall, pretty sure the snowball shading in cel-shading? noice, overall looks great, I eventually got 4.5M snowball as my best, can't see what you come up with next round!
if you can please check out my entry I would appreciate that a lot
Thank you for the kind words!
Love the snow and the forest! What beautiful game! I was expecting to get the chance to build a snowman!
Thank you! Snowman would've been great, could've even made QTEs of placing the snowballs ontop of eachother
That's exactly what I was thinking, another QTE to build the snowman or place the carrot or eyes!
The game has beautiful and pleasing graphics.
Thank you!
Nice one! the art style was so cool. this could’ve been something even greater if there was more depth to the gameplay, but as it stands, the qte's work perfectly fine, they’re fun, responsive, and not broken in any way. with addition of more challenges and tasks to complete, this game can become a lot better :)
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the art!
i like the painterly shader on this! its a really cool vibe, heck the whole game has a really cool vibe!, really good game!
Thanks a lot!
I really like the art and sounds. I wasn't the biggest fan of the button mashing but I liked how it kept getting harder to beat. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
DAMN amazing vibe on this game!
You really inspire me to learn better shaders!
It would be awesome to have a cinematic / story game with this vibe, maybe even a horror game.
The atmosphere you got here is really cool!
Well done :D
Thank you so much for the kind words! If I had more energy and motivation I would've certainly done more with it.
Totally understand that! Keep up the good work :D
This is a cool idea! I didn't actually get frustrated with the QTEs like everyone else. What I didn't enjoy so much was the tiny map. I would have loved a huge hill to summit only to shove this thing off and see what kind of damage I can cause. That said, it's a beautiful game with a simple and fun challenge. Reminds me of a certain song from last year... Great job!
Thanks for playing! I was thinking of doing a redesign of the map to feature more and bigger hills, but I didn't have to energy paint a real map so currently its just shaped noise. Also I'm worried about performance in the browser of a bigger map. Hmmm... what if there would be a lonely country singer stuck in the blizzard with you?
Fun and simple game. I wish there was like a loop or something so I could have had more snowball pushing room.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, bigger map would've been great
I really enjoyed the art/models! They have such a welcoming embrace which clashed nicely with the harshness of the storm surrounding you. It's very simple gameplay wise so I wish there was more to do, but nitpicking is the death of fun. Great work!
Thank you! I spent a lot of time on the art
I love the vibe of this game :D
Although I wish the player had snowball physics too.
Thanks! Do you mean that the player would roll around too?
I like the snowball rolling mechanics. I definitely feel the game would have been a bit better without the QTEs but you gotta do what you gotta do to progress.
Thanks, and yep, it is how it is.
I made a 4.4m diameter snowball, pretty satisfying!
With the whiteout aesthetic, you could do some really disorienting things with the level design, like having it wrap seamlessly to give the player that "haven't I seen this tree before?" feeling.
I really thought you did a great job on the art here!
Thank you! During the development process I did have a infinite wrap around, but that turned out to bring some optimization issues that I didn't have time to solve, so I settled on this instead. My original idea had tonnes of non-euclidian mechanics. The plan was to have a path that you were gonna follow, but if you strayed of the path you had just "gone in circles" and came back a to an earlier bit.
I feel like a dung beetle from last year's game haha
I really like the way the game looks.
QTE is simple, but well done.
Thank you! I spent like half of my time on the visuals. Didn't even think about the dung beetle similarity haha, that's fun!
Very nice art. The quick time event is nicely animated. Not a fan of button mashing. but that's me :D
Thank you! If it wasn't for the theme, I would've skipped the freezing mechanic all together, I'm not a big fan of it either
definitely reflecting how little time was put into it.
Daamn, stone cold! Just like the QTEs. But I do unfortunately agree with you.
Welp.... I froze to death! Fun environment and good sound design!
Thanks for playing!
