A very uniquely cool concept - well done.! There's so much you guys can expand upon... looking forward to seeing this in the stores ;-)

Thank you for the game

Developer

finally, someone brave enough to make it through the bonus challenge ^_*

your game was pretty cool, too! interestingly, what stood out to me the most was the "juice:" how'd you get all the menus to be so animated and bouncy? felt so responsive! i love whimsical UI

got any feedback for us? what did you think?

I really like that brief moment of confusion at the start of a new game, the 5 seconds of “wait, what?” followed by the satisfying “ohhh, that’s how it works.” It immediately sets the expectation of a refreshing experience, and in that regard, you definitely delivered.

While moving around, I did notice what feels like a bit of camera jitter. It’s subtle, and I might be imagining it, but if it’s a real issue, using LateUpdate for camera tracking could help smooth things out. Overall though, it didn’t take away from the experience and I have enjoyed the game, very much so.

I might be saying this too soon; but this probably my favorite game in the jam. Loved the art style you went for; and I can safely say I haven't seen this interesting use of "mouse", "world", and "player" interact how they did. Well done on this!

Developer

thank you SO much, it really means a lot to me to hear it from you! your game was pretty darn fantastic--sold me a tremendous and nerve-racking fantasy in no time at all! and the simple art style with the juicy sound design, i felt it all complemented your game in a way that made me feel anxious without ever feeling stressed. congrats, friend

i'd love to hear if you had any feedback. were there any big surprises in our game or a favorite part? what did you think of the way we chose to respond to the theme of the jam?

So fun  I liked it

Developer(+1)

thank you your game was so fun too! it reminded me of the type of games i was addicted to on coolmathgames. i could see myself playing it for a long while haha

got any feedback? would love to hear what made it fun!

Hey Fern!

Thank you so much for playing my game, I really appreciate it 😊

There were many things I liked about your game. First, the sound effects with every interaction made it feel very satisfying and alive. Second, the simple style is honestly a big strength — I found myself wanting to replay it several times because it’s genuinely fun.

I also really liked the square animation and the creative ideas behind the mechanics. The red line for death is clear and works well — I don’t really have negative comments, I’d just love to see even more ideas and twists in the future!

By the way, I’ve just released a second version of my game. If you have time, I’d really love for you to try it and share your thoughts. I added your game to my collection and gave it a very good rating because I truly enjoyed it

thanks friend! means a lot to me! we actually spent half of the game jam's time just brainstorming because we wanted to make sure that our idea was solid before we actually got into any code. makes me think of all the mechanics that we scrapped for scope haha! water physics, time dilation, audio visualizing platforms.....

in the end, we decided to keep it simple, let the gameplay speak for itself. and we're super happy it paid off!

i'll be sure to give your new build a try! iteration is the best practice any game dev could do, so huge props to you for continuing your piece!

interesting take on the theme, was challenging without being too hard! art and sound was simple, yet effective! Good job!

I'd appreciate it if you could play/rate my game as well! :)

Developer

thank you! we tried to remember to keep it simple and let the gameplay speak for itself without need for a super fancy look, so i'm very happy to hear your feedback.  your own game was an awesome role-reversal! those are usually the most addictive haha

got any feedback? what surprised you most? what'd you think of our take on the theme?

Submitted(+1)

Interesting take on the theme. I liked these mechanics, it felt very unique and satisfying. Playing on a laptop with a touchpad really sold the stylus concept to me :D. I wonder how it would feel with improved graphics

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

glad to hear you enjoyed it! we were scared as to how it would translate for touchpad folk, but it makes me happy that you found fun in it. you might've read my comment on your game, but setting thieves made me feel like a darn detective. your team did a phenomenal job on it, so it means a lot getting positive reception from you!

our game was inspired by the minimalist and geometric artstyle known as "bauhaus"--got any advice as to how to make it pop? we tried sticking true to the look, but we're open to tips on adapting it into a fun and playable experience!

very unique, I like the idea of interacting with the world while you're platforming in it. I think there were some parts that could use some polish, but great submission overall

Developer

thank you for your comment! through your eyes was incredibly well-done, too! gave me the creeps, plus i loved the retro-console aesthetics! really fit the liminal feel of your experience.

got any feedback for us? we hoped to make the world feel kinetic through our stylus interaction system!

This is a unique experience!

Developer

thank you! and i loved how polish the art and ui was in your game! you have some very talented folks in ur art department

mind giving us feedback? we tried hard to create a lively and uniquely reactive world

Submitted(+1)

the idea is very fun!! I liked it

Developer

thank you so much! you were pretty fancy with your game yourself; very ambitious!

got any feedback?

Only feedback would be that WASD movement could use a bit of improvement to make it smoother,  not sure if it has coyote time on jumps, and cant really tell whats causing this feeling.

I think its something that needs to be playtested and reviewed many times to get thar sweet spot.

Think your on rigth track though,  just keep polishing!

techinqly there is a deadline in a jam for a reason, adding a link inside the submission is kinda cheating, but let's try the game
innovation: very good idea, mixing the keyboard and mouse in a platformer is amazing, and I really liked the strings, it's so simple yet so creative.

execution: While the platform ideas were good, they were not done in a perfect way, the colored blocks were frustrating timer jumps, and the creative good idea of strings wasn't used enough, overall the gameplay is good, just need few adjustments.

polish: I like the simple blocky artstyle, and the sound design was good as well, though the game was a bit laggy. and the platforming wasn't the smoothest, the game overall is really

hi! sorry, i'm in conversation with the hosts. we're troubleshooting because we had some technical issues with my original submission! the people that had the chance to play the game before the error were able to enjoy the same experience, however--hopefully they can confirm, if they see this comment. thank you for the feedback, all the same!

We try to be reasonable, if problems had occurred on your end I'm sure you'd appreciate the same courtesy

So fun and unique. Beautiful homage to DS games, literally captures the essence of touch even without a touchscreen. Hope to see this explored more!

This is soooo cool and unique, I seriously loved it! Like wow...I hope you guys keep working on this because I'd love to play a full version. Seriously well done, everything worked and was super smooth to play, no complaints!

Developer

haha thank you! and to be honest, your game's art is such an inspiration; its short 3D scenes were just oozing with atmosphere!

got any feedback for us? i'd love to hear about how our game resonated with you!

Aaww thank you so much ☺️ I wish we’d had time to put everything in that we wanted lol.

For me, your game is really unexpected and kept giving me moments of “oh wow, cool, so that’s what this thing does”. You really took a very simple concept and put such a unique twist on it, which personally I think makes the best games. I love the sound effects and the whole vibe, it’s quirky and light but also feels weirdly emotional like you’re going towards something important. Very impressive.
