Awesome visuals and lighting!
Thank you :)
oh noo did i kill the old guy? D: 😭 is there a way to kill the monster? the monster dissapears with the light and when the fuel runs out it just kills me..
also i feel like the meteor sound effect is a bit too saturated :P
good job with the game! :-)
as long as you didn't hit him with the axe and get the alternate ending you got the normal ending.
I cannot of time for a wood and generator game loop. So its implied the generate died the light went out and the aliens who need the dark destroyed mankind lol.
You are right about the sound when I was fine tuning its hard to that sound right I boosted wanting it more epic due to its nature. In hind sight I think overdid it a bit lol.
Thanks fir playing
not lame falls, more like alien asteroid fall, nice game
This would be really scary if music just wasn't there. But darkness is done very well! although I missed the part where main character said station is in the north direction, only when trying again I managed to read it (It's probably because I'm not a native speaker so it's not the games fault.)
Thanks for feed back
Pretty scary mate
Pretty fun lil concept, and the dialogue was great
My only issue is that the music felt really out of place imo
Yeah thats fair I was honoring the NO AI rule, music is a weak point I can just make weird tunes with rhythmic or dig into my library of brought tracks. So has to settle flad the rest of it was amusing and coherent 😀
My only issue with the game is that there is not enough time to read the dialogue since it's automatically skipped after a very short time. From the bits that I was able to read, the dialogue has silly moments and is not overly-serious, but it's also not overly quirky and "in your face" which I greatly appreciate.
Despite that, I still got some enjoyment out of the game. For only being made in 3 days, I think it's a good enough "teaser" for something bigger. I'm curious as to what other possible mechanics would be used aside from gathering wood and maintaining fuel.
Also, did you make the sprites yourself? I like them and in my opinion they fit the tone the game is aiming for. Nice work!
Thanks yes I drew them myself I am learning to embrace my art style even though sometimes I wish it was more polished and mainstream.
its my first time trying a text dialogue system in this kind of scope. So it's good to get feedback on it. I think the look and function was OK but totally feel everyone saying about the speed. When I put it in it was even quicker and in play test I tried to fine tune. Will work on a click trough system like people suggested for my next game.
Glad the silly came through I love horror but often like a black comedy kind of take.
I totally feel you on the art style thing and I'm pretty much on the same boat. Like, I would love to make polished, "professional" art, but my skills are far from that level so rather than trying to force "good" art for my personal projects and our games we submit, I instead tailor my art on a per-project basis and use very specific art direction. Basically, I hide my lack of "high quality" artwork behind intentional art direction that complements the mood and theme of the project (the "essence" of it, if you will). I've embraced this sort of philosophy as of late because I've come to realize that drawing is not fun when your main priority is making it "look good" rather than letting it complement your project regardless of how "good" or "bad" it looks (art is subjective after all). In my opinion, it's fun to work within your limitations and that's what makes the learning process interesting and engaging.
It's cool reading your comment feels like wr are at tg same place in our journey - putting creativity and fun first.
Wishing you the best on your creative journey. I honestly was really impressed and loved your innovative game.
The concept could make a cool utility where you draw a simple line art and colour it in and can save as a gif or something (due to the motion in your game would lose something as a still. I would use it as could make some fun stylized assets for a game or bild ui with it.
Id you ever want to chat, playtest or need feedback feel free to hit me up.
Thank you! We greatly appreciate your offer and we'd also be willing to help you out with playtesting and feedback for your games.
I wish you the best on your creative journey as well.
Very sad that you didn't have time to make a gameplay loop :(
But based on the current demo, I can only say that I don't have time to read the dialogues, and it would be cool if, when the dialogue ended, the player could skip it instead of it automatically skipping.
i liked the dialogue haha
Thanks :)
