How does the game fit the theme?
The deeper and bolder you explore the dungeons, the more loot and opportunities you gain.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
For the jam, we used ready-made Unity assets for the character controller, bakery environment, and dungeon environments. Dungeon props were taken from Sketchfab, and UI elements were from Medieval Frame Vectors by Vecteezy.

Very scary and atmospheric game. An interesting juxtaposition with the cute mouse and the grotesque monstrosities haha Right as soon as I got into the game I liked the attention to detail with the mouse in the shop menu tracking the cursor. Very tense gameplay, at least for me as a person who typically doesn't play scary games haha Was lacking a jump animation and I felt like the sprint could have been a bit faster, but those are small things. Overall, nicely done!

I played the game for quite a bit! It was really fun.

  • It definitely gets creepy and builds anticipation when the monsters are chasing you. I think they were the perfect speed relative to your own.
  • I also liked the colors of the enemies relative to the background. Sometimes when you're scanning the room they don't stick out right away, so it makes the player work for it.
  • I thought it was really creative to have the "cookie-carrying" sound get louder as you carry more cookies. Not sure if it affects how the monsters respond, but definitely creative.
  • The death animation is hilarious.
  • The audio of the gargoyles were awesome.

Minor Feedback

Below are some minor bullet points that you may have considered but couldn't put into the game due to 1 week deadline.

  • Would've been cool to have a description of what each item does in the shop - even though the names made it seemingly clear. I bought the bag first assuming it would allow to carry more cookies (which it did). When I bought the boots, I didn't FEEL faster. I was assuming that that's what it would do, but didn't see a noticeable difference.
  • On my first play through I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to carry more than 10 cookies and kept going around opening chests that would give +0 cookies - until it dawned on me.
  • When I finally opened the 15 cookie door, the game crashed hahaha.

Anyway, was an amazingly polished entry! The way the monsters moved made me want to change how our monsters work in our game a bit.

If you get the chance, please check it out as well! Thanks 🙏

Ty for the detailed feedback! I am glad you enjoyed the game 🐭

The crash after opening the door was unexpected. We did not encounter this during testing so I will definitely look into the issue.

You are right about the boots. They do not increase speed but reduce the noise from carrying cookies. The more cookies you carry the more noticeable you are to monsters. I will add a tooltip in the shop to make this clearer.

I appreciate your attention to detail. If you have any more questions or ideas I am always happy to hear them.

P.S. I will definitely check out your game ✨

Nice! Thanks.

That's a cool idea to have the boots lower the audio of the cookies. I didn't expect that that's what it would do.

And sounds good! Let me know if you need any more info on the door crash, or I can try again at a later time to replicate it.

Hey, really cool game with a vibe that pulls you right in. I played for a solid 20 minutes and already planning to come back for more always a good sign!
Loved little details like the sneak animation (so satisfying) and that death animation? Totally caught me off guard made me laugh out loud. Music and visuals? Spot on. Smooth experience.
Minor gripe: sometimes it’s hard to see into the next room I’d peek through a doorway thinking it was safe, only to get instantly wrecked. Cue death animation #3. Maybe a touch more lighting or depth cues would help?
Solid, memorable submission congrats! Good luck out there!
