Hoping things are better with ya! My own medical stuff got held up a few weeks because of insurance snafu - real DUMB reason too, I think an Ashley prank gone very wrong would have been more desirable! At least things'll be completely dealt with at the end of the month...
Waiting for the Amnelis/Siofra meeting, where they both accuse the other of "not being a true daughter of Gaea" or something. Also wondering if the dryad Amnelis mentions at the beginning, before the MC meets Ashley and Sarah, will actually show up or not. Fine if she doesn't, just curious if we will see a dryad in the future.

Totally fair question. This month has been hell, unfortunately, lots of expensive medical fuckery, got sick, family visiting, just was not the productive clean sweep I was hoping for. I'm still plugging away and we're close to the next update, I just really wanted it to be done weeks ago.
Can relate to medical "fun" (false tooth fell out, gotta wait until insurance covers it next month to deal with it, and got rear-ended and while I was not at fault, whiplash and ER visit was no fun). Was hoping it was just you were so sidetracked by sexy MILFy succubus!
One question on her, are you intending to have her play matchmaker with the MC, setting up "dates" with every other female in the camp, or something along the lines of just being a sexy vamp character?

Hey, I love me a good long read in a game like this, it's what I've been looking for, actually! I'm thoroughly enjoying the demo and I am thinking of buying the release. However, before I do that, I would like to know if development is still happening. I understand a good project like this takes time, so I don't condemn you for taking a while to put out any new updates. I just want to check and see if you're still working on it before I make the purchase. As you can imagine, it's frustrating to buy an unfinished project only to learn that it will be staying unfinished. I am really enjoying what is in the demo, though, so I would like to support you if you are still working on it!
Hey there! Yes, I've been working on the game for a few years now, updates come at varying speeds and sizes but I'll keep plugging away at it until it's done. It's been a bit slower in May due to a lot of life hitting me hard, but the next update is nearly done and after that hopefully it'll be back to about once a month.
Im very happy to hear it! I understand how that is, life just doesn't care about how we want to move through it sometimes (or a lot of the time). I take forever to work on my projects, so I am always impressed by people who get them done even somewhat timely. Keep up the good work!!
I've played up to the return home so far and this story seems to do a lot of TELLING rather than SHOWING for a visual novel. Does this aspect eventually evolve in the future? I feel like I'm reading an actual book rather than a AVN because the visual aspect is insanely lacking so far. I like what's offered here, but I would just read an actual book if I wanted everything to be explained in text rather than rendered/drawn.
Random observation time!
When Metatron first meets Ashley and Sarah, she's suspicious and unsure if they are good or evil, but will leave them alone if they behave. Fast forward to having spent time with Sarah (and Ashley, but probably more on the receiving end of pranks with Ash) and Metatron is gushing about how great they are, calling them both good girls and treating them as a proud mother would. Metatron is still suspicious of succubi as a whole but realizes she shouldn't just say "succubus = evil" because the two that she knows are wonderful to hang around. Love the character development! :)
Metatron's gradual character development has been a lot of fun to write! Both sides have a lot of trauma from the past, it's not all a fairy tale story, but being forced to accept that the other side are just people helps a lot.
It helps that all 3 are good or good-ish people!
I love this game so much, but I gotta say it feels really weird everytime it uses the word "teenager" to describe any of the characters. It'd be way less off-putting to just say something along the lines of "young adult," "young woman," or "young man" in the protagonist's case. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it does just feel a little uncomfortable whenever it happens.
I'd also love to see more consistent art for the lewd scenes. So far, they've had such good descriptions but so few actually have art (which I know will come with time so I'm not too worried about that), but some of the ones that do have art, especially with Sarah, don't really match the design of the character's sprite very well or are just a little off in some way.
Overall though, this is one of my favorite games on itch.io and I'm very excited to see where it goes
Most of the main few start off solidly in teenager range in terms of both age and maturity, but I agree that they develop enough, especially MC, that teenager applies to him less and less as the story goes. Or do you mean that 'teenager' brings connotations of characters being younger?
The one Sarah paizuri art was the first CG I ever got for the game, before she had canon art, and will get replaced eventually. For the rest... idk. this game doesn't really make much money, certainly not enough to kidnap one artist and get perfectly consistent art from one guy forever. I'll keep trying to get more high quality CGs, but there isn't really an easy solution to making sure they're all the same style.
Sarah's non-paizuri CGs represent her better than her sprite does though, and I'll die on that hill, lol.

I was more so talking about the connotations of the characters being younger, especially in a game like this. Again, it's just a matter of word choice so I don't think it's a huge deal, and I understand what you were going for, I just think there are better ways to bring attention to their inexperience.
As for the CGs, I'm truly sorry this game doesn't make good money since I really do love it and think you're doing a great job. I may just really like Sarah's regular sprite, but at the end of the day it's your game and if you think the CGs are better representations of her then don't let me stop you lol
Also I'm sorry if I sound nitpicky at all, I really do love this game and don't have many issues aside from these small things. I also really appreciate that you gave such a direct response so quickly, I always love when devs are that interactive.

Fair enough on the teenager thing. As MC has matured I've been using it less, but just to confirm, everyone in the party is 18+ and that will never change. I just wanted more of a coming-of-age and maturation theme, going from kind of a dumb/idealistic teenager to a real hero who has gone through the trials and tribulations needed to burn away their past and forge them into someone better than they were.
I'm glad you like Sarah's sprite, I just have mixed feelings about some aspects of it since I didn't quite get what I asked for lol. Stuff like her fellatio/missionary CGs make me happy since they more accurately represent her design. The overall difference isn't large, granted, but it's hard not to notice that stuff after years of working with her.
No need to apologize, I appreciate honest feedback and am happy to talk about the game. I just try to be completely honest (but not a dick) discussing this stuff. I really am glad you're enjoying the game and I'll keep at it, unless anything awful happens we're still gunning for another update in late April to follow up the last giant one!

Ok...so, I might have ignored my own advice and almost done everything. I'm still saving a few things, but jeez you made a lot of progress with the horrors of the cosmos! Question though? I see that there was a scene for Sarah that takes place in the evening. The one that shows up after you see Ash's affection 16 scene? Um... how do I get it?
I've checked a few times and I think I've done everything I can to find it, but either I've done it already and don't know or I have no idea how to get to it. I know I saw a new Sarah scene, was just unsure if it was the same one.

IIRC it takes 18 sarah affection, watch sarah's 16 affection, and watch ashley's 16 affection (the new night scene from this update)
GASP NEW CONTENT?? Now we get to see if Alicia is a sweetheart, how everyone responds to new threat that is Alicia, (because you just KNOW everyone is gonna view the newcomer as a threat), and if there is a huge pie fight because of "prank gone wrong" (assuming Ashley's still pranking)!

Yep yep! If I remember right you mentioned you had bought the game previously, so it should just all be there when you redownload it. Some of the scenes are a bit harder to unlock due to plot requirements, so be sure to use the changelog, it has a guide to make sure everything is clear (though it SHOULD be pretty clear ingame, just do story stuff until they do).
And thank you! Took way longer than it should but I'm just glad it's out, and absolutely determined to not do that again lmfao. I'll probably take a few days off before starting on the next update, and list a few things I am considering focusing without promising specifics.
Yeah I purchased it awhile back so got the latest version. A scene in 34 was a little tough to get because it required both Ashley and Maya having fairly high scores, and another that was Metatron, Sarah, and Ashley at high levels, so this shouldn't be anything too different.
BTW I did a morning exercise with Siofra and LOVED the interaction! She's pretty willful and playful, but when need be she's a good listener. MAYBE the hardest to be wife-like because she's so strong willed, but def a friend with benefits (wink wink)!
Edit to add something interesting: was feeling kind of meh today, went to play DD and woke up and was interested in it...something about your writing makes me interested in playing for awhile! :)
Siofra is a lot of fun ngl. Both .34 and .35 gave her a lot of stuff easing up a little bit, 0.35 gives her a big talk I absolutely love. She feels like one of the most 'power couple' pairings to me.
I'm glad you're feeling better now, and that DD was part of it! I always kinda hoped to bring some kind of happiness to the world with my writing, hasn't quite worked out like that but I'll take what I can get haha

Yeah, sorry about the confusion. I'm working on finishing the final scene right now, so it will be in a few days, but not quite out yet. There's a lot of proofreading, bugfixing, and expression work to do before I can properly release.

Yes, thankfully! Kronos and Dunnask have been very helpful with proofreading, this scene is almost done and I'll be relying on them for it as I implement, add expressions, and tweak older scenes for the final wrapup in the next few days.
Since you are taking longer than expected, I am going to be forced to send Demon Queen Goddess Ash'leigh after you, making sure that she's properly scary-looking and everything (but not DOING anything) until the new update falls, whenever that is!

Just a thought running through this game
How easy is it to suffer through an existential crisis?
I'm some what to curious to think anything will shatter my mind from it just being known to me, but our characters have been through the ringer at least twice. That abyssal horror was a surprise for instance.
Ya boy Chadstaroth has been handling it pretty well so far, though I've tried to show both the stress he's under and how hard he works to keep it under control. I think it'd be boring if he was a one-dimensional superhero who never had any concerns, but I don't want to make him into a whiny kid either. It's been an interesting challenge, ngl, I've never tried to write this particular arc before.
Ashley and Sarah feel the most likely to have impending meltdowns of various flavors, but 'child soldier' is kind of a shit background for healthy coping, so... yeah.
The next update doubles down more on the cosmic horror in some scenes, to make sure people don't forget about the temple stuff LOL.
I appreciate the effort. The story has been great so far and I enjoy playing characters that experience life to the fullest. I honestly like who the protag character is this current version.
My only sad thought, is just like the protag, I feel I could do better. For example, I wish that we saved the brother that got turned into an undead monster in the forest by that ritual. I can't quite remember his name, but he was the reason I leveled up so much, I was hoping to beat the odds or for things to work out.
Real sad.
I think a story should have some problems/failures along the way to spur growth, but I also get what you mean. I hope to sometime go back to the Deepwoods and show what has happened since the events, you didn't fail Belobog but it's not a completely happy ending either, any form of recovery could take a while.

Replaying it while Alicia gets all prepped and ready for her grand entrance, and the whole thing leading up to the fight with Mara and Cheronog (sp?), actually that whole area is just...wow. You really have a way with the wording and a feeling of "MC is in way over his head, but he's sticking with it for good or ill" and makes the fight all the more important, in addition to "Shield is really the best option" I feel hobs deserve it!
On doing early areas, I was level 31 and all the fights in where you greet Maya were like 2 exp. So as you gain levels the early areas aren't worth it as much because you get so much less experience, but I was hoping Maya and Ina had some kind of interaction for the headpat! (BOO they didn't). Curious to see how Celica and Ina will interact, as well as Celica and Siofra (the latter, probably very badly)
Mara and Chernobog! Fun fact, the split between Chernobog and Belobog is *likely* a Christian missionary bastardization of slavic mythology, so it felt right to have Chernobog be an enslaved, bastardized version of the 'true' Belobog here too. I'm glad you enjoyed it! That arc took me an incredible amount of time, but it feels worth it to hear people talk about the impact it made on them. Trying to show MC's development and courage is tough, but fun. He EARNS his happy endings.
I'm not totally happy with how XP falloff works, but it used to be genuinely difficult to NOT overlevel content, so I added it, along with the cheat menu so people can still overlevel if desired. It turns out game design is hard, lol.
I'm trying to add more interactions, but there's a lot of characters and only one of me... I'm open to suggestions! But after this update, lol. Working on the last scene and I need to get the update out before I jump into fleshing other stuff out.

Seriously, hoping things are well. I know how surprises that stall things - I've been a beta tester before and sometime getting a glitch out can be a PAIN. Just waiting semi-patiently for Alicia's appearance and seeing if we are gonna get a fight between Siofra and some other dominate personality over who is more alpha (with Ashley running commentary).
Alicia scene has been tough for sure, I also ended up doing two other scenes, a nightmare/vision and an Aspasia followup, which have gone well. I'm hoping sometime this week will be the actual release.
Update soon? WOO! Will Ashley and Metatron have that prank war? Will the MC discover Succubus MILF? Will there be optional content where the MC gets an unofficial mascot? And will there be really bad puns that cause Sarah to groan from Ashley's attempts at humor?
Anyway, replaying the intro to Deepwoods area and have a few questions involving Siofra. Did she always have vines around her hands and forearms and I didn't notice before (because attention just MIGHT have been elsewhere) or was that added at some point? Other question, I challenged Siofra, lost the last part of the fight, and then when I came back to her a second time, she didn't recognize me. Does she not have different dialogue if you lose to her and have to try again?
Yeah, hopefully next week, I'm making good progress and optimistic at least. If nothing else, it'll be a huge update moving a lot of plots forward.
Succubus MILF is still a little ways off, in terms of planned progression;
- The last actual party member (Alicia, Selendis's daughter, earth magic trainer) will be introduced in this update.
- Minitaur (side character, greathammer trainer) will be in the next 1-2 updates, in the plains.
- Succubus MILF (likely a camp character but not party member) will be in the mountains after the plains.
As always, we'll see exactly how things go.
Siofra's art hasn't changed since her introduction, she's always had the vines! The flower-shaped fire too, lmao, though that isn't active often. I don't remember how the memory thing goes, if you already cleared the area it kinda messes with the scene though.

Siofra is hot af, in many ways! And actually, 0.34 and .35 both move her to having a stronger relationship with the MC, it's not romantic yet but well into 'you can flirt' territory. Actually wifeing her is a harder challenge though lol, she has a very strong personality.
Amnelis is still coming back for sure! I had been considering it for this update, but she'll likely be tied to the Summoning system being introduced, so that got pushed back to the next minor update likely (amnelis sex scene + summoning intro). She did kinda save MC's life in the Deepwoods by telling Siofra where to go, and she will doubtless be insufferable about it, lmao.
Will I need to shell out money again to get the new release, or it is "you paid for it, so you are good for updates too"? Fine either way, just wondering.
Need to practice my Amnelis flirting for when she returns! And maaaaaaaaybe find out if Amnelis and Siofra would be interested in a threesome! (probably not, Siofra's pretty willful and not sure she'd take Amnelis' teasing well)
You already paid once, you get all the upcoming updates. I'd rather the game be free, but I was making basically nothing, this way at least the game helps cover rent lol.

Tried to find it on itch.io, but no search results were found despite being logged in with adult content allowed. Search engine found this page though, so I think your game might currently be delisted from itch.io searches for some reason.
Yes, sadly, Itch delisted all paid adult games around 4-6 months ago and has yet to offer any info when we might get relisted. It has not done this game any favors lol.

Yes, it's time for "hmmmm maybe a mistake, maybe not"! Latest version, when you check on Ina, there's a line of "too honest with the other" and I'm wondering if it should be "each other" instead of "the other", it makes a bit more sense (at least to me). Not wrong per se, just one of those things where I'm used to A instead of the B that is written.
And seeing a mighty Archangel headpatting a doggo girl and wondering who enjoyed that more is one reason why Metatron is required when you visit the area! Seriously, there should be a "see who can do the best job giving Maya a headpat!"

Metatron is actually getting a lot of fancy stuff this update, but no content with Maya... yet, at least, lol. I love maya headpat jokes. She's a good(ish) girl who deserves better than life gave her. As she gets to interact with more characters, I'll see who else feels like they would give her headpats or ear rubs!

We need another spot where Maya decides to demand headpats, like she still wants to feel valued or something, with someone that you wouldn't normally pair her with, like Sarah, or Siofra.
Something else you might think about, given when I woke up today... MC sleeps waaaaaay late and is woken up by whoever has the highest affection cuddling him. When asked why whoever it was didn't wake him up, the response would be "you just looked so cute sleeping there!" (I woke up at close to 1 PM today, not sure WHY I woke up so late outside of "results of the week caught up with me)

Hello, just tried the demo, loving it so far (I got to meeting Ashley and Sarah) but, before going further, I would like to know if there is any way to transfer the save from the demo to the main game.
Because if there is no way to transfer, well, it would be a bummer to repeat all of that.
Yes, saves are freely transferrable! It SHOULD be automatic between updates and free/paid versions, though I've never tried going backwards in versions lol.

I was playing the demo, then went and bought it, and there was no issues for me at all. I use windows, but I imagine Android and Mac would have the same thing in regards to saving and updating. Hope you like it as much as I do, it's one of those games that is "oh...it's 2 AM? geez guess I lost track of time" because it's so engrossing!

Glad you're enjoying! I definitely wanted each girl to feel different.
The hope is to have a generic harem ending, unique endings for individual girls/small groups, and maybe a friends ending. We're not talking like, 30 hour endings for each, but enough text that it doesn't feel like a total coop. I don't plan any bad ends, but some bittersweet endings may end up happening for those who like that vibe.

Appreciate the kind words! I am keeping at it and finishing scenes, but irl and health do keep coming up lol. While the game has never been profitable, I love the characters and story, so while content speed may wax and wane I don't see myself burning out on it, just going slower at times.
And I agree! While I'm personally more of a 1-3 girls player, I definitely want a harem route, and most importantly of all, I want all the girls to end up happy, even if not romantically. That's why I make them suffer now, lol.
This is a weird question, but someone asked about it and I'm going "uhhhh...." what visual engine does Divine Dawn use? Not Renpy, that's the game engine, he was wanting to know what the visual engine was. You might get more fans! (and maybe not, but he was interested)
Had a funny conversation in a different discord about DD, mostly another fan talking about how great the story is, and someone either looking stupid or not separating the rpg aspect and the story, because the one who was "Rpg-style combat, not interested" also said he loves a good story...
Divine Dawn is entirely inside of Renpy. I coded the RPG stuff in Python myself, but Renpy handles almost everything visual, aside from some bits I overwrote. I don't know what a visual engine is, sorry.
Not everyone likes the mix of story and RPG, which is part of why I added so much depth but also a lot of cheats, so people could engage with it as much or as little as they wanted. It sucks to see people dismiss it because of one aspect or another, but ultimately that's what the game is and it doesn't appeal to everyone. I don't know if it was the right choice though, this was my first game and not the best start lol.
Personally, I think you have a great mix of RPG and story.. You have an early hook, believable characters, and the game is FUN! Gets a little crazy at times, but more because so much is happening! Just keep Ina, Kuril, Sam, Celica, Sarah, Ashley, Metatron, Maya, and all the rest going the way you are. :)

Itch is sloooooowly adding more and more games to the feed - two new ones reappeared this week - hoping eventually they will add you too. I'm down to....4 or 5 that still have to return, but since I gave you money, not sure how long it'll be before you show up in my feed again.
Any ideas on when we will be able to see Succubus MILF and what her reaction to Metatron (and Sarah hanging around with Metatron) will be? Will Sarah defend Metatron against SuccuMom? Will SuccuMom find an angel and a succubus hanging out together "cute"? Inquiring minds want to know!
It's still only free games, so far; reindexing of anything paid is nonexistent as far as I can tell. And I'm definitely feeling the loss of income. Itch was never the main money maker but every bit helped.
Succumilf is planned for the mountains, which isn't too far away. Next update (hopefully in a few weeks) will finish up in Badon, then it's plains (1 update), then mountains (possibly 2-3). She'll be interesting and I'm eager to see how she works out.
I love how Sarah and Metatron get along now though, they're both sweethearts!
You know, just had an idea for a bit of a funny scene. Maybe just as the party’s about to head out towards Astralogia, the MC’s parents show up; was thinking maybe they set out towards Badon themselves after running into hostile hob activity or something. Wonder how they’d react to the newer party members…
One thing I noticed- at the moment, the only way to get Earth magic is to choose it from the very start; at least, I’ve never found someone to train the character in it. That kind of feels like an oversight, given how all 5 other elements are trainable as soon as you first leave with the party.
Not really an oversight, the earth magic trainer just took a lot longer to introduce than I had expected. Alicia will be here soon enough.

Also, any possibility of Metatron teaching some of her celestial martial art to the MC? Would be pretty cool to combine it with Ashley’s Nether martial arts.
Regarding Metatron martial arts... not immediately. Maybe down the road, or an offshoot of them, or it may be locked to Aether corruption path only.
Siofra will be the Zephyr magic teacher (wind, focused on spirits) and possible spirit summoning and advanced fire magic. Kandrs will likely be (name TBD) tide/deep water magic and possibly advanced water. Succubus mom will likely be advanced nether. I haven't finalized all of the details yet.

How will the corruption content work, will we have to choose one corruption path or can we do all of them at once? You know become a monstrosity beyond comprehesion, a being that shouldn't exist.
It will be possible to mix some corruptions (aether/nether) for a unique result, and you can have multiple 20%+, but for the most part going past 50% in one will lock you out of 50%+ of others. Most do not play nice together and fundamentally cannot.
So, no bringer of balance between Aether and Nether, huh?
I specifically noted aether/nether as having a combo path planned!

Appreciate the kind words, things are actually going okay (relatively, for now, lol). Been getting a lot of writing done and pretty happy with new scenes, moving stories forward, etc. Remains to be seen how the stuff with Itch goes, i havent been able to get paid in a month now so that sucks, and no updates from them, but they haven't banned me yet so... thats a start.

well i have only played the game to the forest camp point and have done two adventures and some other stuff so apologies if i get something wrong.
well, at first I found the writing a bit odd but soon it grew on me along with characters, your pretty good with character development and pretty decent dialogue as of now occasionally the MC reacts to information in bit of an odd way and sometimes it feels like he has more information or i missed something in a conversation aside from that great dialogue.
character design is pretty good they look nice
Plot is a pretty cool one normally the type of character the hero is that type is used in other shows to uplift the protagonist to show the wannabe hero against the true one, here our hero does have heroic qualities and wants excitement or wants to be a hero, sort of like Nobody(American Hollywood film) he passes his test of mettle and decides he wants more (also who tf is just gonna let a creature of aether go after seeing it and fighting with it) raised by a mother and father that were not given art but whom i would have loved to see more of ( mad scientist and brute warrior sounds very fun) and i see someone read HP Lovecraft the abyss seems interesting so lots to see lots to do
now lewds i feel like they could be improved, the best ones i have seen so far were the ones in the beginning with one of the two succubus' (by the way was the promise of a threesome with those two just words?) or one of the after ones tho even those seemed to suffer from lack of art. I feel the more recent ones at camp are not very descriptive and having absolutely no art or animations depicting anything is disappointing for improvement i recommend improvement of your description of the acts and some art and/or animation (by the way i think the best in terms of description has to be taking Sarah's path after getting home)
also by the way why does Sarah's outfit only change when we go with her i don't see why the hero's mother would not give her a change of clothes at one point
sex battles, interesting the demi-humans here are a colorful bunch regardless i know you said you will add magic but once again i feel that you need to be more descriptive (apologies for being vague about the writing and description of the lewds generally I'm specific about the problem but if you want i can try to give some examples) and once again art and/or animations would be lovely and also i think if your doing one in camp or somewhere i think there should something for whether you win or lose whether unique rewards,dialogue,XP or scenes is upto you
this might be me but i treat the sex fights as just another fight tho could just be me but may i request a QoL change to the sex battle UI in the personality tab you could place whether being gentle or rough is more effective and what position are they weak in, this would be unlocked as you fight them and learn what their weaknesses are.
aside from that story seems to be great just lewds to be worked on (ironically)

Don't worry about corruption for now, before you do anything irreversible you'll be warned ingame.
I am slowly adding more CGs to scenes as we go, can't promise every scene will have one.

I don't have a world map, just a rough mental image of where things are. It is something I want to do at some point!
Yeeee I'm very proud of the deepwoods stuff, I think it's the best part of the game, with choices that matter and a strong introduction to the spiritual dangers your parents warned you about. It's finally the aventure the main character wanted!

Siofra joining is around the end of current content. If you're on the paid version there's another update of camp content, next update (next few weeks, hopefully) will have more story scenes.
