For first few laps I was hitting the sides of the road quite a lot, but as I got used to the controls it was a fun experience! I loved the cutscene after each loop, and the music was superb :D

Oh this was cool! You really got the feeling of speed just right and that cut to the loop-de-loop works SO well. It did make me laugh because as I was playing I said to myself 'I wish the camera was just a little further back' and then lo and behold it pulled back to the perfect position so my only issue was resolved. Great job on capturing that very specific time in game culture. You nailed it on this one, nice job!

Love the design aesthethics and the big loop, that was fun! I think it could have been a little clearer what the objective was from the start, even if just in the itch page description. Also 10 laps to deliver souls feels a little drawn out. My best lap was 40.620 seconds. Nice game!

Loved the retro look of the game. I feel like the car turns too fast, but maybe i'm just bad. I like the camera shift on the loops, it was a nice detail. Great job!

Interesting game! The controls feel a bit twitchy, but my main question is — why do I get points just for time passing? It seems like the slower I complete a lap, the better the result, which is the opposite of how racing games usually work

Racin' for souls, reminds me of the time I was on the pit crew in the Grand Prix for the Grim Reaper, whewee, could that reaper drive, cept' he kept hittin' cars and disappearing to the underworld; didn't help his lap times none.

It took me a couple failed tries to get used to the controls, but once I did I had a lot of fun! You can really get into a flow state with this one. I loved the art. There was enough detail and interest in the background to look polished, but the monochrome and low contrast visuals helped to keep your focus on the road. Also, kind of a cool concept to do basically Spiritfarer x Mario Kart lol. Nice work!

reat work on the physics! Really liked how the car handled.

If I had to give a piece of feedback, it would be to maybe do something with the souls that impact each consequent loop. Like making it so they can be used to attack cars so they don't damage you and have to pick them up again when you throw them, or maybe having to fight other cars trying to steal them from you.

All in all, it was nice. You folks nailed the Mario Kart aesthetic and did not one but two songs that slap. Nice work!

Cool art work! A rare sight in these jams but I enjoyed it. I think the camera movement at slower speeds was a bit too sensitive for my liking and i didn't love being slowed down for collecting souls, other than that great game well done.

Loved the old art style, really well done to copy it from that age. Managed to get a 40.120 time. Really wanted that sub 40 at the end, but felt a bit cheated with the huge hitboxes of the other cars and the loop spawned me right behind the enemies a few times.

Not sure what the loop and souls added to the game, it just turned in to an old racing game at the end. I would have liked to see more experiments around that, when it fit the theme.

But all around a good experience. Well done.

Totes did not expect to find an old-school racing game here.

While the core gameplay feels pretty nice, the meta of having to do 11+ laps was pretty boring. With some more interesting goals I think this could be a great game!

Great fun, was a little tricky at first but I got better very quickly which is always the sign of good game design. It was a bit of a slow game but the music made it  worth it. The tracks were incredible, and I loved the dreamy vibe of the whole scene. Nice one!

Its a fun ride for me :)

Its pretty fun, especially when you collected 10 souls. The hitboxes of other cars are a bit to big i think though

Nice driving and fun once it zoomed out - this made it much more controllable! A fun game you guys created :)

the crontrols feels awesome after u zoom out a bit, at first it was too close to my liking and the i find it funny how after u win it just says

YOU WIN

       ok

very funny

also when u get close to other cars u hear their sound as well

I like the vibe and it was fun overall. One thing I liked a bit less was doing the same lap again and again after 4-5 times. Nice work anyway! :)

There are some problems with the collisions, what most suggested and the controls/driving is smooth only at high speeds, but if you crash or decelerate then the turning rate is too steep and hard to control, I end up in the ditch :)). Other than that is a cute game. Good luck!

This is awesome! The art looks great and reminded me of the old 2d racers on the SNES.

the driving is very fun!
