Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
The main character dreamed of climbing a mountain there whole life, and after long and hard preparation, something went wrong and she wanted to give up. But after some encouragement she decided to screw the rules and to just get started!!

Cool (haha) game! Gameplay was pretty straightforwards, really liked the character and animations though I feel like the integration of those animation could use some more work (blending, tweaking the wallslide rotation...) to make them look even better! Also lovely that you could go the extra mile and add a cutscene for the beginning and end. Good job!

Love the character model, the visuals are very nice. It feels fun and responsive to control, I had a blast with this one.

Loved the whole atmosphere of it, the character designs are nice.. I was worried that I was gonna have to point out the floatiness of the movement, but now that I finished the game I think it was by design, or at least had the levels designed around it, cause it all worked really well together, the movement and the music all felt very dream like so it ends up fitting together. altho... it is very exploitable in some places.  I also got softlocked in a couple places due to collision getting caught between the ground and a static platform and had to reset the game
overall... i really enjoyed the climb and would love to see more added to the game!

I got hit by nostalgics having this GFX-style big plus point.

Love it that collectables are not reset after falling big plus point.

Missed a collectable counter or bar or somewhat to track my progress... or even at the end of the run a "you got 3 / x moons" small half-minus point

Controls are solid, overall gameplay time is perfectly suitable for game jam and I like the difficulty curve (considering a fair/non-glitchy playthrough)

Overall I enjoyed the submission, well done!

i really enjoyed this experience. the visual are nice and nostalgic and something about how forgiving the climbing is was just super satisfying to me. unlocking the extra mode had me playing for quite an extra bit just for the pure vibes i didnt want to leave lol.

thoughts / critiques:

i think the collectable could be more interesting visually its kinda this dead looking grey star haha

also the checkpoint could probably be better integrated into the roleplaying of a climber.

id love to climb some more mountains with milly if you keep working on this!

Yeah im probably gonna rework the collectibles visually a bit, i just kinda went with the first idea that came to mind because of time constraints.

The checkpoint point is very fair! Maybe a climbing rope anchor could fit 🤔

I hope you check out the game again when we update it sometime!^^

just so fun, collecting all the coins was a blast and I had to play it 3 times but didnt feel bored by it at all. the models and protagonist design is so so good, only thing is that the wall jump was heavely exploitable being able to skip entire sections by just repeatedly jumping on the same wall

Im glad you enjoyed the game!! Thank you for all the praise :D The walljump definetly needs some more fine tuning yeah (also the thing we got feedback on the most!. We hope we can improve on the game a bit after the judging period ends and work on it a bit more :D

Was very fun! I thought I  got all the coins but I didn't unlock the menu thing so  I guess not u.u oh well

I will say, though, I kinda cheesed a lot of parts just wall jumping, but hey, I enjoyed cheesing it hehehe

Your comment made me realize that the check if you have all moon coins collected only happens in the pause menu so you have to press pause after collecting the tenth coin ;-;
Now in hindsight it seems like a very silly mistake, but such is th enature of gamejams, we were running low on time :(

Super cute and fun! Mad respect to anybody that submits a 3D platformer for a game jam. One minor gripe: the movement is a bit floaty for the way the obstacles are placed. In one instance, I accidentally skipped a few wall jump platforms because the normal jump just took me all the way to the top. So it could use a little tuning, but hey, that's a jam for you.

Yeah theres definetly some fine tuning needed (coyote time and various other small adjustment)  but we were running really low on time :c But thats just the nature of game jams! I think we really learned alot from this project and are planning on working a bit more on the game and polishing it further after a short brake!

Awesome stuff here all around! Absolutely adore the style and art (the little smiles on the moon and coins are everything to me omg) and the gameplay itself is really quite fun and engaging! Controlled really nicely in my opinion. Big thumbs up from me >:D

I liked the animations and character model, and the game has a nice atmosphere. The controls are fairly intuitive (although maybe they should have been introduced a little better). It didn't feel like the levels were made particularly for the games mechanics however, and I think the game could have been better if they were. Also, it could really use coyote time. But otherwise nice!

Usually I get frustrated when I see games like this because I know they are going to torture me. However, I found that the controls and level design were so well made that I had no frustration at all and could enjoy bouncing off the walls. Very nice overall game feel and tune. Impressive work!

Cool game! The coins emiting light is a great way of making them easier to find, and the extra mode you unlock for getting all of them is a fun addition. Would have loved to be able  to walk slower on keyboard, but the controls on controller were perfect once I incremented the camera speed a bit on the options. GG!
