Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
Racing game with a twist. The racing cars keep breaking down and the mechanics (including player) has to go fix them to just get them started

I love your idea of having to fix the car, setting you apart from other racing games. I will say, a tutorial would be really nice, because the game was so confusing the very time I tried playing it. But otherwise, great work on your first game jam!

Developer

Thank you very much!

nice game!! really fits well the game jam topic

i just think i would need a short practical tutorial to better understand the game mechanics, but good job!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a go! I agree about the tutorial, comments given by others also point that out

The car AI is really convincing! Could have a tutorial, but overral very good and fun, good job!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try. Much appreciated! I agree a tutorial is a good idea to add in the future, also work needed on the minimap / inventory to better display what you are carrying etc.

Interesting game! I like the way that we are allowed to walk on the racing track when we are not on the car haha

Nice game but it was pretty laggy for me

Developer

Thank for trying it out! I believe I made a mistake in not pre-loading the effects. It seems they always lag the first time they appear. Lesson learned...

Awesome game! It's a nice twist to play as the mechanic and it also plays well once I understood the mechanics (no pun intended)

Developer

Thank you, much appreciated!

I enjoyed this game, once I knew how to pick up the parts. Playing a mechanic in a race game was a nice idea. Fits the gam-jam theme well.

Developer

Thanks for giving it another go, much appreciated!

You gotta be at least a little bit realistic. This race doesn't represent reality how the red car won!!!

Developer

Thanks for giving my game a try! Getting a nice balance between realism and fun was definitely a challenge for me, I needed more experience and time for sure!

I mean it was a joke. A joke about winning ferrari(ferrari don't win in F1) I liked your game actually

I like the idea of this game. But I cannot seem to pick up the any of the tools... Also, is there a way to see which tool you have currently selected?

Developer

Hi Alwyn

Thanks for giving my game a try! When standing in the pits over one of the tool icons (engine, fuel can, toolbox) and pressing spacebar you will pick it up. The corresponding icon in the minimap area will show if the item is picked up by not being grayed out.  I do realise there is a lot of polish required to have a better UI that scales nicely with different screen resolutions etc. Ran out of time for polishing, haha

Awesome! Pink car was constantly leaving me in dust so i stood against the pink car and sabotaged them. I have no negative thoughts on this. Nice work!

Much appreciated thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I wanted to add some code for when a player (or AI mechanic) gets hit by a car to have them get thrown off the course, time ran out and I didn't get to that.

Nice! Great fit for the theme. I like that the pit crew has to run out to fix the cars on the spot. Took me a while to figure what I needed to get and what I had equipped, but I think it's because the mini map was quite small on my monitor.  The AI players also know what they're doing, leaving my car in their dust 😄

Had a great time playing this one!

Much appreciated!
