What do I do after inputting the code?

It should've brought you to the debug screen, if anything you should follow the steps below:

1) Ensure that you've set your username to "DBUG".

2) On the main title screen of BGAS, input the following controls "UP DOWN A B SELECT". (If on the web browser via PC "UP DOWN Z X SELECT")

3) This will send you to the soundtracks screen where you would then play tracks "03", "25", and "21" in order to reach the debug screen.

When I do the DEBUG code it sends me to the soundtracks instead of the DEBUG screen. Why is this happening?

You would still need to input the "03 25 21" code in that menu in order to access the debug screen and turn on debug mode.

How do I type numbers on the GB COLOR!?!?!?!?

Use the "Last" & "Next" buttons in the soundtracks screen to change the currently selected track, which you would then use the "Play" button to input the code. Those buttons are labeled on the screen, they're the first ones you would see. Sorry for not specifying earlier.

It didn't work.

Also what menu?

I have a question. I have been thinking about remaking BGA from the ground up. Is that ok with you?

You could do that if you want, given that I've open sourced the entire project. But I wouldn't recommend that because of the many assets & functions in the fangame that you would have to recreate from the outdated engine, along with some major crediting and permission issues from its soundtrack.

Hi! I am trying to get the true ending I've tried everything and can't get it still/ What am I doing wrong?

You should try looking at video playthroughs of the fangame such as the one that Haroon Plays had made awhile back, I'm not sure about which step you're on or missing here.

I got the ending! Thanks!

Hell no need collect 99 books that's so bad, I'm trying only 6 hours bro

Bro I'm stuck on edit mode when typing username

You might have your capslock on if you're not using the built-in touch screen controls, it's an oversight on the web emulator's end.

How does this game know what I’m playing on?

For the web & executable versions, I've manually set the device model to be for said versions. All other versions uses GB Studio's built-in events for detecting the specific GameBoy model that the fangame is being played on.

oh nice

Do I need a Gameboy to play the game?

You don't actually have to own a GameBoy Color to play the fangame. You can play it right here in the web browser, or download a GameBoy emulator that'll play this fangame!

(+1)

Ok! Thanks for explaining it!

I realized that your game was pretty cool and impressive for the gameboy, which is why i wanna make my own game

I wanna use your assets (and ai)

Simply because the visual and sounds look good

(Thx for making it open source (: )

Im sending this comment because i don't really know if I'm supposed to put the credits that you put on the website or if i should put only my credits and stuff... Yeah.

(Of course i will put credit for you)

Or maybe you just don't want me to use your assets ? I won't feel really sad if you disagree it's your choice and i know there is a 99 % chance that this will go to waste.

Anyways thank you for your time.

Yes, you may use any of the assets/files/code that are in the project folder, it's open sourced after all!

However, you will also need to credit those who I've used their work in this fangame, especially since a lot of these assets (among other things) are translated from content originally made by Basically Games. All of which depends on the kind of sources you're pulling from the project folder.

Case in point, crediting Basically Games for originally creating everything Baldi related (voices/assets/mechanics), crediting Saintza4 and Nicky Team for providing their MIDI conversions for me to translate into GB Studio's UGE format, or crediting me for any original content not found in Baldi's Basics (like the platforming sections).

(+1)

Wow ! I didn't expect you to answer this fast, thank you !

Anyways i did read your message and i will be putting the necessary credit inside of my fangame.

It's also very nice of you to let me use your work :)

(By the way English is not my primary language so i might make some errors from time to time)

Thanks, you're welcome!

why is floor 2 so hard

i tried 7 times and cant beat it

I would suggest luring Baldi around the floor, making him go somewhere you can easily dodge from. Other than that, I'm very sorry for the difficulty spike!

(+1)

the game is very good, but Baldi goes through walls, there are few characters and I can't select the other modes after I choose the "Baldi Space Nightmare" mode

Baldi:Im in your walls

lol

the emulators do not recognize it as a GBC game automatically, you might want to rectify that.

The ROM's format is .gbc so it should've been recognized as such, same with the web version. Other than that, I have no idea why it does that.

Found the problem. you had Unit Code (SGB Flag) located in address 0146 to 03, which made some emulators that runs off of the ROM Information assume it was running a Super Game Boy ROM... And since the game is only meant for GBC, it assumes that it's running on ye ole gameboy. Changing 0146 from 03 to 00 fixes the problem.

How I found it out? Ran a comparison between this and a G-Zero World (which is also a homebrew) to eliminate as many factors as possible, and Unit Type (see image) quickly caught my attention. A little research in GB/GBC ROM Header showed quickly what the problem was.

(+1)

I've originally planned this fangame to support all Gameboy models until I've realized that its poor performance on both DMG and Super Gameboy models wouldn't be an enjoyable experience, so I've added a lock-out screen & Super Gameboy border to highlight the fact. Since some emulators allow Super Gameboy borders to be displayed while playing in GBC mode, I believe that's where the issue is coming from.

A true fix for this is to either port the fangame to GB Studio 4 where the ROM can truly be set in "color only", or remove the Super Gameboy border altogether. (Editing the ROM's code may also work, though I'm not sure how as it's built from GB Studio's own ROM exporting option.)

Maybe I'll make a somewhat updated version of this fangame that fixes this issue, but that'll be for another day. Thanks for the help though!

how do i play the tutorial?

Press Select at the main title screen and select the "Settings" option to select the tutorial.

k thanks

It should run fine on any emulator. This could be an issue on your end and I don't know how to help with that, but you can use other emulators to play it on.

how to open baldi space nightmare?

Play through Baldi's Gameboy Moment and lose all of your lives in the final space battle with Baldi to unlock Baldi's Space Nightmare.

(+1)

okay but getting punishment from the game of losing all lives by making you collect alot of notebooks that you probably will be a skull (dead) already in the end or have no time is insane to me

I have that punishment be there to unlock Baldi's Space Nightmare if you've lost all of your lives in the Baldi boss fight. I should've removed the punishment and have it return you to the title screen but as the fangame is complete, it's going to have stay that way, sorry!

(+1)

Cool game. The sound effects are pretty impressive.

The only thing I didn't like so much are the schoolhouse graphics. It looks very flat.

Bigger hallways could also be nice

(+1)

Thanks! I've keep the floor's layouts as small as possible to prevent anyone from taking too much time to complete it, especially when escaping the 2nd floor.

First of, I just wanted to say thank you for adding me in your website. And second, can you delete the video of the website because I move my channel in a different one.

And I soon will play V3.

Ok, I will do that!

(+1)

I have now uploaded part 3 for V3 update

I have finally gotten the true ending and completed the game
(+1)

Thanks once again for playing my fangame! Also the reason why the game slows down a lot in the boss fights is because Null keeps on updating his scripts whenever he's stuck in a corner, forcing you to move farther or closer to him in order for him to get unstuck, making the game run normal again, I don't know how to fix it so I've leave it alone. Also, every instance of Null in the game is removed after getting the true ending. Also, every ending in the game ends with Baldi kidnapping the player so that the 'story' can continue in Baldi Rooms.

(+1)

I thought it was because I was playing in the EXE version or emulating the game. Also, I think I’ve seen null being removed in the intro off camera the player just passed out of exhaustion after escaping Baldi's flooded school. I also see why every ending Baldi still appear outside and kidnapped the player is Baldi room a upcoming mod or is it just a made up name?

(+1)

nvm I’ve saw that Baldi room is out I heard it is basically backrooms I have not seen the screenshot but I’ve seen that the mod is out

(1 edit) (+1)

Oh btw Video is coming soon :)

(1 edit) (+1)

I've finally completed the game I have finally 100% the game except the badges that was so intense when I first play extra mode and it was all thanks to the GearBoy Emulator for helping me completed the game because on EXE version you have to do everything again while the emulator can save and load state meaning you can play the same part again which makes it easier for me but anyways thank you for helping me how to unlock extra mode it was fun replying to you but since it is over I think this is a goodbye to Baldi's Gameboy All-Stars you did a amazing job making V3 I can see the improvement of your sprites, mini-games etc I have fun playing this update it was a incredible experience when I first play this update anyways thank you for making this game it was fun :)

Thanks for playing, you're welcome!

I have now uploaded part 2 for V3 update

I have beaten the bossfight this time and I also unlocked Baldi's Space Nightmare and the fact you just have to collect 32,767 Books is crazy
(+1)

Thanks for playing! I've also forgotten to mention this but, there isn't an 'ending' to Baldi's Space Nightmare since that's more like a little side quest to play Baldi's Gameboy Moment again, hence the word nightmare. So you don't have to collect 32,767 books, collecting at least 99 books should allow you to play Baldi's Gameboy Moment again though.

Oh so that’s why I can play Baldi's gameboy moment on my second slot after collecting 99 books I’m glad I don’t have to collect 32,267 books because that would be stressful and pain to collect that many books but anyways I enjoy the V3 update and is there a way to unlock extra mode since I’ve played lots of mode or is it a work in progress section I would like to know just in case If I wanted to make part 3 of this update

(+1)

To unlock the extra mode, it requires you to encounter Null in Baldi Builder first, via secret chunk, 0̸̧̡͈̣͙͔̼͇̈́͊͊́̒̽͛̔̕͘͝6̸̰͕͉͌̑́̽̿̌̇͜6̶̨̿́͂̽͑̽̓̓̇̓͝6̵̼̟̘̰͓̝͖͚̍̋̎̏́́͐̓̄̆̿̌̀̕͝͝͝

and then Baldi's Gameboy Moment via secret ending.

(+1)

Alright thank you for telling me how to unlock it I’ll get the secret ending in part 3 finger crossed that my RNG will be pretty good

So I've done the 1st secret ending but I am not sure how to get the secret ending on Baldi's Gameboy Moment I thought getting all the problem wrong on the think pad would work but it just give me the same ending so I have no clue how to get the 2nd secret ending

(+1)

You should also anger Baldi in the 3rd book on the first floor, and the 2nd book on the second floor to get the secret ending.

At least it just a separate save slot first slot is space nightmare and second slot it the gameboy all star

Video coming soon btw :)

I have now beaten the bossfight quick and now since I lose all the lives at bossfight level it'll unlocked Baldi's Space Nightmare and wow I just have to collect that many books that is just insane but at least it saves the amount of books so this way I could make part 3 of this and see the ending for baldi's space nightmare

(+1)

Thank you Normal_Person2_0 for making the bossfight easier than the previous update I’m sure I can beat this bossfight when I play this update
