cool game ! well done ! its just a lil hard to understand at first but i really liked it
I love the art style! The gameplay was a bit confusing at first, but it became really fun once I read the instructions. Overall, it's a really nice entry, and I looooooove it! I hope you expand it into a full game in the future.
I was confused at the start why my score wasn't going up when I shot someone singing a bad note but after reading the page description I realized that I have to right click on the perfect notes too which I didn't realize they were. Once I got that done it felt super satisfying to play. I love the sounds, honestly everything from the notes to the gunshot it all felt very satisfying and it was easy to get into a rhythm just listening to the music, nice one!
Fun little rhythm game. I quite enjoy the visuals and audio. Good job!
Thanks! :D
Honestly, pretty peak. The timing for the gold guys seems a little strict and sometimes inconsistent as it looks like I hit the same range but only sometimes get a successful score and I'm not entirely sure what I did wrong. Admittedly, I did click intense mode for half of my runs, so that could have an effect if there's a difference between the modes and just pressing start. It didn't seem like there was at present as all of them felt the same to me, so I don't know.
Still, I very much like the aesthetic here for the game. Simple little notable cubes that are the prime targets for my endless amounts of bullets as I work my way through this mixed crowd of colorful singers. The sounds are very satisfying and the thumping rhythm in the back is very pleasant and makes me feel all the better when I land a shot in time with the beat. And speaking of on beat, I don't know if I can classify some of those bad singers as bad. They're just vibing, and when I get a cycle of good/bad/good/bad/good/bad singers going, that makes a really satisfying rhythm and beat to listen to. The good singers on their own can't even make that. The bad singers just need a chance to shine, man... before ultimately getting shot for not meeting our standards. I'm not one to slouch on my duties. It's also a strange feeling to have someone perform well and then immediately turn bad, forcing me to shoot them on sight, but thems the brakes sometimes. If you don't know how to follow up your high notes, you're outta this club, no mercy for anyone. Its a strict policy here and I need space for more good singers to add to my 50 point collection, bad singers ain't gonna cut it.
Anyways, I really do enjoy this little game. Its short, sweet, and pretty addictive to just get lost in the rhythm of it. Really great work you did here. I'd definitely come play again if more were to be done with it post jam.
Thanks so much for playing my game! It seems you aren't the only one having issues with the gold singers, I think when the jam is over I'll definitely review my code and try to make the timing more consistent/fix any bugs or issues. I really appreciate your feedback and message, though. The vibe that you felt in the game was precisely what I was going for :D
Pretty fun game! Has a lot of potential to expand it even further. This kinda feels like a wario ware minigame ngl. I enjoyed it a lot and the juices and the sound effects are quite satisfying. The visuals are simple but its coherent and cool! I would also say its quite serious! Overall, really great work! I had fun with this one!
Thanks so much! :D I didn't even think about it, but now that you mention it yeah it does really feel like wario ware LOL
This was really fun! It makes me think this could be like, a really fun rhythm heaven type game where you have to shoot the enemies and spin the record on beat. You made this game feel so alive with the movement and particle effects and deltarune explosion. I also love all the bad note sound effect. You really used colour well to make the game easy to understand. This is definitely close to the most fun I've had out of any game I've played!
My only criticism is that I'm not really sure what causes you to get points from gold notes sometimes not others. The timing I have figured out has nothing to do with the bar, and it also only works on the rightmost 2 singers? Idk, but still I had a lot of fun so it doesn't really matter lol
Thanks so much for the feedback, I really appreciate you playing! :D The timing is meant to work with the orange bar, and when you press right click once it reaches yellow you get the note, but it was also the last thing I programmed so it may be gimmicky LOL. After the jam is over I'll probably return to this game with tweaks and bug fixes.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!
I don't know how you managed to make the shooting so satisfying but it really is haha. I think the game is well executed, but it would be nice if you got score from shooting the bad singers too! I also think the timer is a little short for shooting them, maybe that could be something that speeds up as you get further into the game? Maybe it does speed up later, but I only reached like 15 points I think. Nevertheless, very nice concept!
These are amazing ideas, thanks so much for the feedback! :D I never thought about giving the player points for shooting the bad singers, but it makes so much sense lol.
How this doesn't have more ratings, I don't know. Serious Simon's Disco is a true gem of this jam. Little rough around the edges, but a solid and hilarious experience none the less. The gun was fun, I loved turning and immediately blowing up anyone who dared to sing badly. Really just needs more polished menus, a better bullet sprite, and a background. The background is what got to me the most, It really, really would've benefitted from even a repeating moving pattern, it being static is a major drawback.
That being said, how this has only a couple rates is crazy! This is really underated imo, nice work!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your kind words and feedback! :D The animated background is a really good idea that I didn't think about, I'll definitely add that if I work on my game more!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game :D I'll try yours out next!
didn't quite understand what to do with the yellow guys and after some time it was getting a bit repetitive. other than that pretty cool and very serious!
