KU Applied English Center to implement curriculum changes focused on student flexibility
The Applied English Center will launch a redesigned curriculum in fall 2026 that replaces larger combined English classes with more skill-focused courses to better support student schedules and learning needs. The new structure maintains existing learning outcomes and accreditation while making it easier for students to fit AEC courses into their academic plans.

Three KU students selected for Fulbright awards
Three University of Kansas students have been chosen for the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program, earning placements as English teaching assistants in Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Taiwan.

Application deadline approaching for KU’s Building Bridges: Global Youth Academy
The University of Kansas is encouraging students ages 13–17 to apply soon for the inaugural cohort of Building Bridges: KU Global Youth Academy, a new 10‑day immersive summer program for participants from Lawrence, across the U.S. and around the world.

Partners across the globe join KASC and CGIS for virtual symposium, "Global African and Asian Studies: Perspectives across the Americas”
KU's African Studies and Global & International Studies centers hosted a Jan. 31 virtual event on “Global African/Asia Studies,” connecting four North and Central American universities to advance Global Africa—viewing the world through African experiences. It’s already spawning more symposia (Brazil, Africa), an in-person Costa Rica gathering, and remote KU workshop participation in May 2026.
