✨ How to Be a Non-Obvious Thinker ✨ with Rohit Bhargava, Founder of Non-Obvious #GHC25 Rohit shared his SIFT framework — four habits to spark creativity and help us see what others miss: 💡 SIFT = Space, Insight, Focus, Twist 1️⃣ Create Space for New Ideas • Try small rituals that break patterns — like tasting a new fruit every morning — to signal your brain to think differently. • Practice mental time travel (as inspired by Jane McGonigal’s Imaginable) to stretch your imagination into the future. • Be an active ally — as Rohit said, “Hire a sensitivity reader at fair market price and help them make more money.” 2️⃣ Find Insights • Seek unfamiliar stories outside your bubble. • Take new perspectives and notice long-term shifts. • Innovation starts when you connect dots others overlook. 3️⃣ Find the Focus (Through Curation) • See the big picture and bring out the emotion. • Add constraints — creative or technical — to sharpen ideas. • Curate intentionally; less noise, more meaning. 4️⃣ Define a Twist • Look for Option C when faced with binary choices. • Champion the forgotten or unexpected perspective. • Surprise your audience — be memorably different. 🎯 Closing Thought from Rohit: Instead of the usual introduction, ask yourself — 👉 “What’s something non-obvious about me?” For me, it’s the unconventional path I’ve taken: With a finance degree, I started as a startup marketer running small-budget campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, then moved agency-side managing large-scale luxury auto accounts across display, video, and audio. I went in-house to lead digital marketing strategy and execution, translating data into insights. Joining Amazon shifted my trajectory — I became a technologist, building and productionizing ML systems. Now at Meta, I’m back in advertising — this time shaping systems that enable dynamic, resonant ad experiences aligned with the right moment and action. 👧That non-obvious thread — curiosity, adaptability, and creative reinvention — has defined every step of my career. #GraceHopperCeleberation #WomenInTech #TechInclusion

🧠 Specs fail when meaning lives only in people’s heads — informal guidance, tribal knowledge, and “everyone knows what this means” don’t translate to reliable software ✍️ Plain language can be precise — when intent, constraints, and assumptions are made explicit, specs become executable, not interpretive 🔄 Ambiguity is the real tax on engineering — it shows up as rework, misalignment, slow reviews, and brittle systems 🤖 AI changes the bar for specs — models don’t “fill in the gaps” like humans do; they amplify whatever clarity (or confusion) you give them 🚀 The future of dev starts before code — teams that treat specs as first-class artifacts ship faster and break less 👉 If you’re still debugging misunderstandings instead of code, it’s time to rethink how you write specs. Built my first MCP server. It finds offline businesses using Serper and sends the data to Clay via a webhook. After 6 months of deliberation. And multiple discussions with Anirudh and Romit, where I asked them 10000 questions, I finally built it. Why now? Because I feel it has become important enough that businesses can’t afford to ignore it anymore. Especially automation agencies like us. Rapid adoption from all three big LLM providers Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. Plus platforms like Zapier, Postman, Pipedream have made it possible to (i) easily create servers and/or (ii) integrate it into your workflows for a growing number of use cases everyday. What does my MCP server do? 1) It automatically creates the right queries to search on google using Serper. Selects the cities I want to target based on the states I mention. 2) Allows for batch creation and modularity for the number of pages I want to search. If I am looking for hotels I'll search for 20 pages vs searching for physical therapists where 5 pages should suffice. 3) Stores the API responses into a local folder as a csv file. Each run has a dedicated folder so I can always go back and access the data if I want. 4) Extracts the business details from the JSON responses and creates the final csv I can import to Clay. 5) Then it gets interesting because it also asks me if I'd like to directly send this data to a webhook table in Clay. This means even the manual import step is not necessary. For now at-least it seems like there are a few gaps: 1) Context window is a challenge, with Claude’s desktop client at-least. 2) Tool selection is not perfect. Both these things will drastically improve in the coming months. My assumption also is that using a client like Cursor will make things better, need to test. The big takeaway I had was the benefits of building your own server. I thought earlier, if out of the box MCP servers will become more readily available then users won’t need to spend as much time building, configuring or implementing their own servers. However, it turns out building your own server gives you the advantage of capturing your business logic more reliably. For example even if there are out of the box servers available for Serper (tongue twister much), I wouldn’t be able to achieve some parts of my workflow with it. Like my querying, batching logic, or the ability to transfer data via webhook to Clay. I could have potentially integrated other MCPs or tools to achieve the same but as I mentioned tool selection is currently a problem. There may be even better approaches to solve for a multi step workflow which captures your business context and needs - than just directly building that into your MCP server. Need to explore and build more.

One of the things I deeply appreciate about engineering at Meesho is how strongly we prioritize the user experience, especially for the diverse realities of the Indian internet. Many of our users access the app on low-memory devices and challenging network conditions, and ensuring a smooth experience for them requires solving some very real technical problems. In this blog, our Android team shares how we approached OOM crashes, building proactive systems to detect memory risk early and take corrective action before the app crashes. It’s a great example of how engineering teams can drive direct business impact by focusing on reliability and performance. Attended a very insightful session organized by the CTO COMMUNITY summarizing key takeaways from AI Summit India 2026 The summit itself had hundreds of sessions and exhibits across a week, so this format of distilling actionable insights for senior technology leaders was extremely valuable. Here are my notes from the session: 1. AI moving beyond POC AI Summit was showing several successful projects so it's not POC mode, these applications are deployed and are generating values. Examples include rural education, healthcare, farming, grassroot level innovations were highlighted. 2. Rise of DPI Many of the initiatives of DPI - Digital Public Infrastructure were announced in the AI Summit. Like Aadhar, UPI, SAHI, BODH. 3. Designing AI for India India has unique challenges like thousands of dialects, poor internet communication, rudimentary edge devices with less RAM and CPU. Any solution built for India must account for these realities at the design stage. 4. Small Language Models & CPU workloads Many companies are working on small language models and also using CPU for ML Workloads and are having increasing success at very less cost. 5. Human in the Lead Its not just Human in the Loop its about Human in the Lead. This is a collaboration between Humans and AI and humans remain in control and retain the ultimate decision authority. 6. Positioning in the AI Landscape Organizations need to think where they are in this AI Landscape: Are you building the core foundation Are you adding a value layer Are you having a specialist niche 7. AI Native vs AI Enabled Are you building AI Native apps or are you retro fitting apps to be AI enabled. 8. Success Metrics Ultimately, AI adoption should be driven by outcomes. The question is not “How can we use AI?” but rather “What problem are we solving, and can AI meaningfully help solve it?” If you have clarity on the problem, define success metrics, and are able to convince the CFO, there is a greater probability that the project will succeed. 9. Reorganizing for AI Traditional organizational structures are not designed for AI. AI success requires clear data ownership, labelling, governance, and lineage. Organizations must realign around strong data management practices to unlock AI innovation. You set it up once, then it’s reusable across sessions. At its core, it’s a set of instructions that teaches Claude how to do a specific task your way. Think of it like handing a new employee your playbook on day one. Except they never forget it. And all is written down in a markdown file (SKILL.md). This keeps your workflow maintainable over time. It reduces prompt bloat and inconsistency And it makes iteration easier because you can tighten one thing without breaking everything else The guide itself is well scoped, covering the following areas: 1 - Fundamentals 2 - Planning and design 3 - Testing and iteration 4 - Distribution and sharing 5 - Patterns and troubleshooting Some very important take aways here: ✦ Build micro-skills that chain together instead of one monolithic skill ✦ Keep SKILL.md short and decisive, move supporting material into references/ and assets ✦ Always hand-edit Skills generated by Claude, first drafts are usually too verbose to be reliable ✦ The real leverage comes when Skills connect to tools through hooks and MCP servers, that’s when “workflow” turns into “system” If you are building agents, internal copilots, or repeatable personal workflows in 2026, Skills are worth learning properly. In a bold move, over 1,000 Amazon (India) employees are raising concerns about the company's rapid AI expansion. They're calling for sustainable practices and ethical guidelines to protect jobs and the environment. The best satisfaction and growth path for a leader is when you mentor your team and equip them to move to the next level. If you fear your successor is going to replace you, it will only lead to harbouring insecurity, mismanagement and eventual downfall of you and your team.
