[miteymidget] Sherlock recs

Here's some Sherlock fics. I might have something a little more comprehensive later, but I'm barely a week into this fandom so this is just a few of my favourites so far. Also, there's a surprising number of crossovers/fusions here. Wow.


GEN

Paper Chase and Rematch by sam_storyteller.
This is a White Collar crossover. Sherlock consults for the FBI and challenges Neal to a duel of sorts. It's awesome!

Major Pieces by lindentreeisle.
Case fic! If there's something I love about the Sherlock fandom it's case fic and this is one of my favourites.

Endgame by AJHall.
I live fic from and outsiders POV and this is especially interesting, having Sherlock interacting with a child.

Apotheosis by mad_maudlin.
The assassin John fic I was telling airwaveeight about. I found it Kim, and it is glorious!

Murderous, Co-Dependent by rageprufrock
John and Sherlock are kittens! They cannot be separated. KITTENS!




SHERLOCK/JOHN

I Used to Live Alone Before I Knew You by etothepii. Sherlock/John.
Sherlock/Good Omens crossover. Sherlock is a demon and Mycroft is an angel and they have and arrangement and John is Sherlock's human flatmate.

The Paradox Series by wordstrings
The most complex and interesting and fucked up Sherlock I've ever read and it's enthralling. Also, a little unsettling and left me feeling a little squirmy and not entirely in a good way. Still, love it.

Gravid by blind_author.
I am weak to genderfuck and girl!Watson is wicked. Also, she's pregnant and thinks Sherlock is dead. I love her, so much.

The Theory of Narrative Causality by falling_voices.
My God, the work that must have gone into this! John and Sherlock are BNFs in the Arthur Conan Doyle fandom. It's fandom meta fic! It could have gone so horribly wrong, but turned out so good.

Backup Copies by etothepii.
Crossover with Dollhouse. John is a brought back to life as a doll. The implications in this fic are both creepy and kinda sweet. It's a strange and wonderful mix.

The Internet Is Not Just For Porn by cyerus.
John is Sherlock's internet boyfriend from Canada. It could just be patriotic pride, but I think this is adorable.

Correspondences AU by third bird.
John meets Sherlock before Afghanistan.

Traffic Lights for the Colour Blind by lavvyan.
John has a deathwish. I really liked this one.

Getting the Message by loveslashangst.
Mycroft plays matchmaker with John and Sherlock and is manipulative and borederline creeper. Fun times.

The one were objects can communicate with John. I really have a thing for psychic!fic, right?

The Science of Forward Momentum by thisprettywren.
Every fandom needs a Ground Hog Day AU and this on is lovely.

Lab Book by sam_storyteller.
Sherlock keeps a lab book on John's sexuality. Both funny and sweet.

Asteroidea & Highly Intelligent, Observant, and Destructive When Bored & Feels Like Drowing by etothepii.
The His Dark Materials fusion series that's just a tiny bit unsettling, but really worth it. Also, has Mycroft/John/Sherlock.

The Engagement by the deadparrot.
It's arranged marriage fic and John and Sherlock are princes! I can't say no to that.




ASEXUAL!SHERLOCK/JOHN

Breakfast at 221B by AJHall
Sherlock wants some cuddles and Mycroft was a well-meaning dick. Includes the tag "implied sexual abuse of a seabird" which is enough reason to read it, in my opinion.

What Makes Us Rich by flawedamythyst
All of flawedamythyst's fics are worth a look, but I especially liked this one.

The Thermodynamics Series by libraryofsol
This all starts with Sherlock and John basically sharing a bed in order to share bodyheat when the heat isn't working in the flat. And Sherlock just keeps coming back to John's bed and just doesn't understand what's so weird sharing a bed with your flatmate. I love everything about this series.
