showboat

A literal "showboat" is a boat on which theater productions were performed.
1. verb To act or perform in a conspicuously ostentatious or showy manner in order to gain the attention of others. Some jerk was really showboating as he went flying down the ski slopes, so it gave me no shortage of glee to see him catch an edge on a mogul and crash spectacularly. Yes, we know you're a good dribbler, but you don't have to showboat so much during the game.
2. noun Someone who behaves in such a manner. Come on, nobody likes a showboat. Just ski like a normal person.
