To release something to the public as some particular thing or in a certain format. The band had so much material that they ended up issuing it as a double-album. Knowing that the movie had an enormous fanbase, the magazine decided to issue the edition on it as a collector's item. I bet we could drive up sales if we issued this as a limited edition item.
