hashtag
1. noun A word or phrase (written without spaces) preceded by the pound sign or hash mark (#) in a post on social media, meant as a way to add additional information, humor, or a searchable tag to the post. "Hashtag" is sometimes said humorously in conversation as well. She used the "unedited" hashtag, but that picture looks too good to not have a filter. A: "What a great day we've had!" B: "I know! Hashtag blessed." A: "Glad to see you're having ice cream before even eating dinner." B: "Hashtag priorities, Mom."
2. verb To mark a post with such a hashtag. She hashtagged that picture "unedited," but it looks way too good to not have a filter. Do not hashtag this picture of donuts "juice cleanse," that's just mean. OMG, are they engaged now? She hashtagged that picture of them "fiancé"!
real talk
interjection, slang A statement used to underscore that someone or something is conveying an honest and candid message. Often used as a social media hashtag. I know I've been posting pretty pictures on social media this week, but, real talk, I've been dealing with crippling anxiety behind the scenes. A: "OK, you didn't hear it from me, but real talk? Alex and Annie are getting divorced." B: "No!" He says you're not good enough for him, but he's definitely not good enough for you. #realtalk
