"Tore up" is a colloquial variant of "torn up."
1. To become very upset or emotional. A: "Did you know that Joe died?" B: "I know, I can't believe it. I got all tore up when I heard the news." Of course they're upset! Wouldn't you get tore up if Fluffy ran away? A: "Sean got all tore up when I asked about his wife. Do you know what that's about?" B: "Yeah, she left him last week."
2. To cause someone to become very upset or emotional. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "get" and "(all) tore up." This whole thing with Janice has got me all tore up. I just wish I knew where I stood with her! I know you're angry with him, but Tom's not taking this misunderstanding lightly. It's gotten him all tore up. Why would Molly get all tore up over my disqualification? She has a clear shot at the trophy now.
3. To become very sorry and remorseful. He flies into a rage whenever his jealousy gets the better of him, but he always gets tore up about it the next day. How dare you say something like that to me! Hey, when you get all tore up about it tomorrow, don't come to me looking for forgiveness! I had a really bad fight with my sister, but it seems like I'm the only one who's gotten tore up about it. She's still mad at me!
4. To become badly damaged or injured. His car got all tore up in the last race. It's a miracle he made off with his life! I heard Michael got all tore up by a local gang. Wow, why is the dining room ceiling all tore up? Don't tell me there's another water leak.
5. slang To become very drunk. Do you remember last night at all? You got so tore up you could barely speak! We're going to the club tonight to get all tore up! Ugh, my head is pounding. I need to remember this feeling the next time I think getting all tore up is a good idea.
