1. In exact agreement or harmony. The board voted in unison to approve the development. A: "It's weird that no one's arguing." B: "I know, nobody in our family ever agrees to anything in unison." OK, so your views aren't in unison. Can you at least reach a compromise?
2. At the exact same time; simultaneously. We recited the poem in unison, in one unified voice. For this play to work, you all have to move in unison. As usual, the triplets answered in unison, like they had rehearsed it.

1 if people do or say something in unison, they all do it at the same time: ‘Good morning, Mrs Crawford’ the children shouted in unison.
2 if people or organizations are working in unison, they are working together, because they agree with each other: I am pleased to report that the various committees are now working in unison to thoroughly investigate this matter.
