MacGyver

slang A reference to the titular character of the television program MacGyver, who became known for his inventive, improvisational contraptions and solutions.
1. verb To craft or repair something in a simple and improvisational manner, as by using whatever one has immediately available. I didn't have the right tools or materials to fix the washing machine hose, so I had to MacGyver a replacement using an old bike tube and some electrical tape. We MacGyvered a ladder out of rope and some old planks of wood from our shed.
2. noun One who has an inclination or aptitude for making such improvisational creations or repairs. You fixed the fence using wooden pallets left behind by the construction crew? Wow, you're a bit of a MacGyver, aren't you?
