1. slang An abbreviation of "I see," meaning I understand. Used in text messaging and online communications. A: "Hey! When R U coming home 2nite?" B: "10." A: "IC. later" A: "Well, I would recommend resetting your router before you try anything else." B: "IC, thanks for your help." A: "sry I can't I'm busy." B: "IC. No prob."
2. An abbreviation of "in character," used especially in reference to fandoms, role playing, and video games. There is still a thriving online community for this game. Everyone talks IC and is really enthusiastic about the world! The cast held the whole panel IC at the convention. It was so awesome to actually talk with Dr. Smock in real life! I don't know what people are complaining about—it's totally IC for Carly to be this selfish.
