hit man

Someone who is hired to kill someone; a professional assassin. The woman was arrested when the hit man she tried to hire turned out to be an undercover police officer. The mob boss is sending a couple hit men around to make sure the accountant never makes it onto the witness stand. I'll have a hired gun take care of the informant, don't worry.
