1. An initialism for "hometown honey," a romantic partner that one began to date before leaving their hometown to go to college. Would you stop flirting with Dan? He's got an HTH! That cute girl from Spanish class has an HTH at home? Dang, there goes any chance I had with her! No, Bill doesn't have an HTH anymore—they broke up over spring break.
2. An initialism of "hope this/that helps." Used in text messaging and online communications. I've attached some instructions I found online—HTH. Sure, take as many cough drops as you need. HTH. Here's my organic chemistry cheat sheet. HTH.
3. An initialism of "how the hell," used to emphasize surprise, shock, anger, disgust, etc., as an intensifier of the question "How?" Used in text messaging and online communications. HTH was I supposed to know that? HTH…? The file is gone from my hard drive! Just HTH did the newspapers find out about this?
