A/N: Set when Jr. and mom swapped places in Azkaban. Apparently, this challenge is unbelievably depressing for me.
It was amazing, really, how quickly the body adjusted to the most dismal surroundings imaginable. The hunger pains that were so intense for the first couple of days just melted away as she continued to refuse to eat. Growing light headed and feeble, still, she somehow managed to remember to drink the polyjuice potion every single hour.
No matter that it tasted like garbage. No matter that it awoke the hunger pangs anew. No matter that this was a particularly nasty way to die.
She was not doing this for herself, after all.
She was doing it for her son.

Draco placed a sandwich on the table, "Please, Ginny, you have to eat something."
Listlessly, she pushed the plate away, "I'm not hungry."
Raking his hands through his hair, he snapped, "You haven't eaten anything in three days."
His tone drove away her lethargy, "What do you care?"
"Damnit, Ginny!" He grabbed her hands and forced her to meet his eyes, "You know I care."
Turning ashen, Ginny whispered, "Not like he did."
"How long are you going to throw that in my face?" With a bitter laugh, he turned away, "At least I cared enough to live for you."
