"Hagrid!"

Guiltily, Hagrid turned around, "Well, hello there, Hermione!" He said brightly, recovering, "What are you doing?"

Eyes streaming, Hermione pointed to the bucket in Hagrid's hands, keeping her hand clamped over her nose, "What is that, Hagrid?"

"Oh, this?" He asked, glancing down, "Well, it's spring, Hermione."

Hermione rolled her eyes, "What does spring have to do with that horrible smell?"

"That's when she lays her eggs, of course." Hagrid explained, "They fetch a good price down at the pub."

Looking rather green, Hermione asked, "Her eggs? A good price?"

Hagrid smiled, "Squid Roe is a delicacy, you know."

Sirius stared at the lake, "James?"

James didn't move, "Yes, Sirius?"

"Look at the lake."

James sighed, rolled over on the bank, and humored his friend, "What about it?"

Eyes wide in the dark, Sirius shuddered, "Should it be doing that?"

"Doing what?" Exasperated, James stared at the water, seeing nothing unusual in the waves.

Sirius pointed at the water, "The waves, James. There's no wind and it is a lake."

Quickly, James stifled a laugh, "Relax, Sirius, it's just a Squid summer night's dream."

Peter sat up at that, protesting, "But, it's fall."

Remus grinned wolfishly, "Shut up, Peter."
