Firewall and mail server configuration

  • Updated
  • Follow these steps to configure your company's firewall and mail servers to ensure your users can access Pluralsight Skills.

    Email

Make certain you configure the following hosts as trusted senders on your email server and firewall so that mail from Pluralsight isn't rejected:

    • @pluralsight.com
    • @pluralsightmail.com
    • @tmail.pluralsight.com
    • Sparkpost:
      • @appmail.pluralsight.com
      • IP addresses 192.174.86.231 and 192.174.86.230

Important: Please make sure [email protected] and @appmail.pluralsight.com are not routed to spam so your users receive their team plan invites and password reset emails.

If your organization is opted in to customer marketing communications—typically around adoption and engagement—please allowlist @pluralsightsavings.com as a trusted sender.

This is optional and only necessary for organizations that are working with Pluralsight and using customer marketing communications.

    Web

Allowlist *.virtru.com for secure communications with Pluralsight Support.

Allowlist the following hosts in your firewall—including any web application firewall (WAF), if applicable—for outbound TCP connections over ports 80 and 443 (for HTTP and HTTPS, respectively):

    • *.pluralsight.com
    • *.typekit.com

For Skills interactive courses, please also allow WSS traffic over port 443.

Skills uses Cachefly, Edgecast, AWS, and Cloudfront.

    Video content

If you experience issues with video content, check out our video checkup tool (opens in new tab), as well as this article on video troubleshooting steps.

If you still have issues accessing our content, especially playing videos, please reach out to your IT Ops team to make sure the subdomains below are allowed through your network firewall and any security appliance.

    Subdomains Content delivery network
    vid.pluralsight.com Edgecast
    vid5.pluralsight.com Cachefly
    vid20.pluralsight.com Edgecast

    Video course exercise files

To allow your users to download and use exercise files associated with video courses, please allowlist the following domain:

    • ip-video-course-exercise-files-us-west-2.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com

    Discussion boards

To view and use discussion boards on video courses and projects, please allowlist Disqus.com.

    Hands-on learning

Required for general labs and sandboxes:

    • *.pluralsight.run
    • *.pndsn.com

For AWS labs, please also allow Amazon's list of IP addresses (external site, opens in new tab).

For Microsoft Azure labs, please also allow Microsoft's list of URLs (external site, opens in new tab).

For in-course Qwiklabs, and Google Cloud self-paced labs, please also allow *.qwiklabs.com and allow access to Google's list of ports (external site, opens in new tab).

For Cloud servers, only certain ports are open to external traffic on cloud servers. See Cloud servers for the current port allowlist.

If you're on a plan with Isolation mode enabled, add isolation-mode.pluralsight.com to your allowlist. See Isolation mode to learn more.

    Migrated customers from ACG

    Email

Make certain you configure the following hosts as trusted senders on your email server and firewall so that mail from our remaining ACG systems isn't rejected:

    Web

    Allow *.acloud.guru in your firewall.

    Troubleshooting

If, after applying the above allowlist configurations, you still experience firewall issues, some light troubleshooting may resolve the issue. Please try the following:

    • Use a different browser or launch the platform in an incognito window
    • Confirm that your browser is up to date
    • Clear your cache and cookies
    • Disconnect any VPN and disable any extensions or ad-blockers that may be causing issues

If you’re still having difficulty, please contact Support.
