I've been reading so much fanfic the last few weeks and as always, blown away by the fantastic talent out there within my favourite fandoms that I'm going to start up some weekly rec posts to show them off. Short n Sweet this week.

Fandom: Robin Hood

First Impressions by jagnikjen  

A drabble - a proper 100 word drabble.  I'm always envious of drabble writers.  This is an Isabella piece and just a perfect companion for her first meeting of Robin.  Only 100 words but oh so many to love.  I read it and have went back to re - read it a few times because it's just like perfection in a little post.

Sock Monkey by cattraine    

Warning: Death!fic.  I don't avoid deathfic but it's not something I read unless I'm confident the writer has handled the subject in a good, fluid way.  This wasn't an easy story to read but it's also a very beautiful story to read.  I would advise bring kleenex.  The death dealt with is Grace Williams, so double warning of deathfic involving a child.  However the writing of Danny & Steve especially - just mind blowing gorgeous.  It's a hard subject and personally a little close to home but the handling of grief, of the human spirit, of how life, in some way, does go on, is so respectfully done.  If your strong enough - read it.

The Tale of Sleeping Beauty, or A Marriage of Inconvenience by azziriafic 

Could be considered crack fic but this is modern fairytale with a twist of McDanno, hobgoblins and magic mirrors is a brilliant read. I've not laughed so hard over a fic for a long long time, comedy is very hard to pin down and this is done to perfection. A great view of the H50 story so far, but put into a definite Fairytale reality, Sleeping Beauty and the handsome Prince have never been so attractive. Fairytale for adults - definitely not one for the kids!
