An Outstretched Hand

There were times when Harry had no understanding of how he had reached this point in his life.

Of all the things he had done over the years, both good and bad, one stood out among all the others that he most regretted: his rejection of Draco Malfoy’s offer of friendship. 

26 years later he had found himself wondering how different his and Draco’s life might have been, if he’d accepted that outstretched hand.

Where this would lead he could not say. As he stretched out his hand in friendship,  “Draco, glad you could come,” but it was a beginning.
