Halley Profita, Ph.D.

I’m a Senior UX/HF Researcher by trade, focused on wearable computing, HCI, input & interaction, and assistive technology. I recently joined EmotiBit, a DIY, open-source, bio-sensing wearables company. Prior to this, I worked in industry on Neural Interfaces at Meta, as well as numerous product lines at  Apple as part of the HID Human Factors Team.

I completed my Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing/CS at the University of Colorado. As part of the Correll Robotics Lab and the Superhuman Computing Lab, my research focused on e-textile and wearable technology development for novel-sensing and interaction techniques, accessibility, and the social acceptibility of on-body devices.

I came to CU from Georgia Tech where I received my masters in Industrial Design. Much of my time at Tech was spent infiltrating the Computer Science Labs where I hopped on interactive technology projects of all shapes and sizes.
