I decided this is going to serve as a bento blog. Maybe a little introduction?
I'm Hailey, I'm a 21 year old 4th year nursing student, and I'll be graduating in December (thank goodness!). I started bento-ing at the beginning of the last school year for a few different reasons. A) to save money B) I though it was neat idea C) to eat healthier. I've probably made close to 100 bentos, but I haven't taken pictures of all of them. Some of them definitely are not photo worthy.
I'm going to do a bit of a backlog of bentos, just to catch up.
I think this was my first bento ever. It's in my fit n fresh from linens n things (aka bed bath and beyond). This is a totally ugly bento, but I figure it'll be neat to see how I've come along. It's a cheese sandwhich, crackers, celery, carrots and cucumber, red onions, homemade hummus, and some grapes and oranges.

This one is my second ever bento, which is as equally unattractice as the first. It's a turkey sandwhich, carrots, celery, cucumber plus some dip under the sandwhich, some broccoli and cheese sauce, and a couple mini chocolate bars.

Third-ish bento, also the introduction of the green lock and locks. A salami sandwhich on a whole wheat baguette (holy sandwhiches!). Chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, carrots, celery, cucumbers, cheese cubes and apple hearts.

This might have been my first "more" visually appealing bento. It has falafels, a tortilla, some currently unknown meat, tzaziki, some cucumbers, celery, carrots, chocolate chip cookies, some crackers, a baby bel cheese, and a couple mini chocolate bars. These bentos seem a bit large because they're both lunch and snack bentos.

This is a salad bento. Egg, cheese, sunflower seeds, carrots, cucumber and tomato on a bed of lettuce. There may be some red onions hiding under there as well. This lunch was no where near filling, but at least it was creative.

Halloween bento! Ghost and bat tortilla sandwiches. Some have pb &j and some have cream cheese. There are also some carrots, some peanut butter and banana "sushi", a couple cherry tomatoes and two mini chocolate bars.

Ok, time to post some newer bentos. I think I was actually starting to get the hang of it in these. I also got my two first real bento boxes around this time.
This one has rice, toped with mixed veggies (corn, carrots, peppers, water chestnuts, etc.), some cucumbers with humus, cheese cubes, pineapple, cookies, cashews, and a random mix of chocoboy cookies and sugar free candies.

This bento was in april, so I'd already been bento-ing for awhile at by this time. This one has a quarter of a bagel with cream cheese, a couple chicken strips, some sauteed mushrooms and onions, a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie (yum!), half a kiwi, a few carrots, some grapes and some frozen mixed berries.

This one is in may. I got the black skull bento for my birthday! Woot! This bento isn't too visually pleasing, but it was darn good. Two little english muffin "pizzas", some turkey/cream cheese roll ups, a pumpkin mini muffin, a cranberry- lemon mini muffin, strawberries, cucumbers, carrots and dip in the strawberry container. Theres also a little olive tree.

I loved eating this bento. A peanut butter and jam wrap, some cucumbers, a couple strawberries, a little laughing cow cheese. In the top tier theres the best fruit salad ever: mango, strawberry, grapes. mmm. Theres also a raspberry white tea package for my water.

I think that's all for now. I've entered two contests, so I'll post those entries another time. Enjoy
