ok, loveovergold wanted to now what i played, so i thought i would put it as a post if anyone's interested.
firstly i have a les paul copy (the one in the pic). this was basically a piece of junk guitar i came by in a shop when i was guitar hunting after my dad had accidently smashed up my ibanez jem (nice one dad). it sounded horrible, it didnt stay in tune, it was a pig to play. but damn it looked cool. so heres what i did to it...
first to go were the crappy machine heads, which were replaced with gotoh's. then i had it re-fretted with medium jumbo wire. all the pots were thrown away and replaced with dimarzios. the pickup selector switch was later replaced with an ibanez (it kept buggering up). then came the pickups. i put a seymour duncan jb in the bridge and a symour duncan 59 in the neck... now this guitar seriously rocks! looks cool, sounds cool, and feels cool.
my other electric is a frankenstein... the body is mahogany and a strat shape from a '74 ibanez. the neck is a really nice replacement part that is made by some luthier here in new zealand. it has a fender strat headstock. machine heads are gotohs. pickups are emg (3 single coils). this guitar is what gets used for anything that requires a really nice clean sound, which is something the les paul doesnt do so well. but it also cranks with distortion, although the les paul does it better.
i alson have an ibanez and an eko acoustic.
my amp is a line6 axsys 212, which i wouldnt be without. it sounds great, its reliable, and having your amp and all your effects in one unit is awesome and saves alot of hassle. the next thing i want to get is a marshall 4x12 to run it thru...
the only other effect i use that isnt built into the amp is a red digitech whammy.
i have a shure BG2.1 mic that i use for my vocals.
i have tones of other little gadgets and pedals around the place, but these (apart from the acoustics) are what i use for gigging... so there u go...

This the Epifone Thunderrbird. It is very good. I think made in Japan, which is good (better than Korean or Mesican). It has nobs to make volume bigger and also tone. I don't like to change tone but I like to play volume LOUD. I play with a twin Marshall Stack with much power so it plays very LOUD, which is good. It has nobs to tune strings on the neck to make guitar in tune. Humbucker pick ups and it is brown with yellow on the front like FIRE. I bought because I like Jimmy Hendrix make song about fire and even though he play a Strat I like the Epifone more better.
Sound: 10
I like to play LOUD. I play much kinds of music. Traditional rock and roll like Black Sabbath and Ozzy Ozboarne and Fleetwoodmac and KORN!!! I have long hair like Ted Nugent. I use guitar with lots of petals like BOSS CS1, BOSS CS2, and BOSS CS3, Voodoo Labs Superfuzz, BOSS OD1, BOSS OD2, Tube King. The sound is very dirty and muddy and thick. With all the compressors on it sounds like a mud train stuck in the tracks. If turn amp to 11 you can "cum on feel the NOISE!!!"
Action, Fit, & Finish: 9
Reliability/Durability: 10
I rock and roll HARD to things like Ted Nugent Cat Scratch Fever and KORN!!! Sometimes I pretend to smash guitar but not really hard because I don't want to break or make crack and have to go back to Guitar Center because I have not much more money to spend $290 to fix. But when I pretend to smash, guitar is very solid and good. 10!

I never tried call Epifone. They probably good if you call.
Overall Rating: 10
I been playing LOUD rock and roll for almost 3 months. Before that I played in band in school but not guitar (trumpet and flugalhorn) so I know how to read music which has helped me play rock better. I wish I had noticed small nick on neck which man said could be crack before bought guitar, but lucky nice man at Guitar Center help me and only charge $290 to fix and another $25 to polish. He said normally charge $30 to polish but gave me deal. It is worth it to ask for deal. Guitar looks great now!

A while ago somepeople here gave me some imput about getting a Schecter C-1 (both good and bad).
Anyway, I got the guitar and I love it. It is so nice to play, has a great sound, is beautiful, and is wonderful for it's price range. Many people I know who have expencive Gibsons and such can't stop playing my guitar and are hitting themselves in the head for not getting a Schecter C-1.
Ok, so I sound like a walking billboard, and I'm sure I am, but it's a great guitar.
Thanks for everything. :)

as much as I love my Vox AC30...the tolex is thinner than old people's skin....jeez...4 gigs out and the thing is ripped to shreds!
any suggestions for a decent glue to use to repair the tears?

how much should i expect to spend on a telecaster?
i know the price range for them but i don't know at what amount i would say "That's just too little." and at what price i could say "I could spend [so much money] but it wouldn't get me that much more than if I just spent [this much money]." and i really can't spend that much. i'm hoping i can get a decent one for about $400. i mean, if not, that's OK. it'll just take longer. but i'm hoping.
i'm also looking to either replace my practice amp or repair it. it's an Epiphone i got from a family friend whose daughter played guitar for about a minute sometime in 1994. it got the job done for a few years but now it's pretty much shot(or the insides are, anyway). i have to turn everything on the amp and the guitar all the way up to get any sound and i still feel like i can't hear it over the actual strings of my guitar(if that makes sense). it's been like this for a couple years. i just haven't had the money to even think about doing anything with it until now.
also, i'm looking into pedals but i've never actually bought pedals, so i'm not really sure what i'm looking for. i love distortion and overdrive and all that. right now i'm mostly looking for something that will give the guitar i do have right now a fuller sound. like i love the way my Epiphone sounds with everything turned all the way up, it's just you can barely hear it.

Hey folks, I'm about to overload you guys with questions... This place is always super helpful..
The input on my amp was messing up, when I would plug in it would just shreik. I took it apart and re-saudered the input and it works now except it will randomly go silent maybe every thirty seconds for 2-3 seconds. Also it makes a loud popping sound when I change channels. Its a peavey transtube 258efx. Im wondering if there is a particular thing that usually causes this problem that I could try to fix, or if it could be any number of things.
Is anyone familular with Richman guitars? I bought a Richman custom flying V, but I hadn't heard of richman before. I'm just curious, google hasn't turned up a whole lot. Also the string tension is really .. tense. Is there a way I can loosen it up? It has a floyd rose tremelo and a locking nut if that makes a differance.
What pickups would you folks recommend for a Tele? I have a recent (Past few years I believe) mexican standard tele and the bridge pickup stopped working (But only for the 2nd string??). I would imagine that a lot of my options would be a lot better than the stock ones.. Any experiance or input is very greatly appreciated. I know it depends what style I'm looking to play.. I want something fairly versatile, although not as interested in super high gain stuff on this guitar. Also I will most likely be keeping the stock neck pickup for now unless I find a good deal on the set.
And FINALLY... I recently came across a Pan 12-string hollowbody electric. The only information I've been able to find about Pan is that they were made by Aria between 1968-1972. I'm told this guitar was late 60's, also the seller told me it was all original parts. It was in almost mint shape so I couldn't resist, regardless if its all original or not it was cheap and sounds fantastic. Im basically just curious about the company because I cant find much information. Oh and.. again, the bridge pickup is dead on it. Im told I can send it in to get it re-wound which I think is what I will do, just to keep everything stock on it. But what might be some fun pickups to stick in a vintage hollowbody?
I know this is a giant HEAP of questions and I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer any that they know. Thanks!
