Suguru blinked staring at the time. It was a little past 10 already; he had posted at around 8? ...If Tatsuha-san was really at NG studios he should've been here by now. Suguru frowned; maybe something happened to him... Damn, he should've insisted to pick him up. Suguru looked at the clock again; he'd give Tatsuha-san 10 more minutes.
Eight minutes later there was a tentative knock at the door. Tatsuha hoped this was the right house. The front light was on and welcoming, but otherwise... Well, Suguru could certainly afford such a large dwelling, even if it was strange for a young bachelor who was often touring away from home.
Suguru blinked at the door knock, and walked over looking through the eye hole before swinging the door wide open. Suguru had a bright smile pasted onto his face, "Tatsuha-san!! Welcome!"
"Shit..." Tatsuha stepped back, unaccountably wary of the enthusiastic greeting. "You actually live here? By yourself?"
Suguru blinked, "Errr.... Yes?"
"Uh... wow. No offense or anything." He shuffled his feet. "And sorry I'm late."
Suguru smiled reassuringly, "It's fine Tatsuha-san, I was just worried that you got lost or something." He moved aside bowing a bit, "Please, come in."
He stepped inside, bending to unlace his boots in the entranceway. "Not lost. Exactly. I- Never mind. Thanks a ton for putting me up."
"It's no problem Tatsuha-san; I have plenty of space in the house." Suguru smiled, "Would you like to see your room?"
"I get a whole room?" Tatsuha peeled out of his jacket and looked for a place to hang it. In the end he tossed it over a chair. "Like, with a real bed and everything?"
Suguru blinked a bit confused, "Yes, of course; why wouldn't you?" He asked walking up the stairs to the bedrooms.
"Because we sleep on futons at the temple, and when I visit Eiri I'm lucky to get the sofa -- if Shuichi isn't on it," Tatsuha murmured, following. "It's rare that I get to sleep on a bed." Especially now that he'd broken up with the bitch.
Suguru frowned a bit, "Excuse me? ...Broken up?" He asked confused pausing in front of Tatsuha's room.
Shit. Had he said that aloud? Must've slipped out. "Uh... y-yeah," he chuckled weakly. "My last girlfriend was... um..."
Suguru frowned even more and shook his head, "It's alright Tatsuha-san, I shouldn't have asked something so personal." He walked into the room smiling, "And this is your room."
He poked his head into the door, mildly interested at best. "Whoa. That's pretty big. You know that I'd be happy with something a lot less, right?"
Suguru blinked, "...Erm... Well... It's not that great... It's just a guest room." He replied looking around a bit confused. White walls, carpet, personal bathroom, king sized bed, television, computer, radio... It wasn't all THAT great
"It's like... three times the size of my bedroom at home," Tatsuha tried to explain. "Of course, the temple's pretty old, and old-fashioned buildings tend to have much smaller rooms..."
Suguru blinked again, "...So you would like a smaller room?"
"I'm not complaining! Sorry if it sounded that way."
Suguru chuckled a bit shaking his head, "No, I just wanted to know if you liked this room, you could always take mine if you don't like this one?"
"God no!" Tatsuha nearly shouted, waving his hands. "I'm already inconveniencing you."
Suguru blinked a bit more, he was doing that a lot today wasn't he? "Okay, so this room is okay with you?"
"It's perf-” Tatsuha halted, giving Suguru a quick glare. "That is, unless you're- No -- never mind."
Suguru tilted his head a bit to the left, "Excuse me?" He asked not quite getting it.
"Never mind," Tatsuha repeated firmly. "Look, I really am grateful. If there's anything I can do to-” He halted again, frowning, and mumbled, "Shit, that sounds really bad too."
Suguru twitched a bit annoyed, "Just say it."
"Can't. It'll come out all wrong. I don't want you to think that... I'd do anything... strange."
Suguru shook his head, "No; tell me. It doesn't matter if it comes out strangely."
Tatsuha stared at him for a moment. "You sure? I mean, you're not playing with me or something?"
Suguru groaned putting a hand to his head, "Can you just tell me what you're talking about? It's really starting to confuse me."
"Okay, okay! You win.” He bowed a little, dredging up his formal temple manners. "I'm grateful for your hospitality. Please allow me to repay the kindness in any way that I can."
Suguru blinked, "...Is that it?" He asked his face breaking out into a smile, "It's fine Tatsuha-san! Company in the house is great; you don't need to do anything to repay me... But you WILL have to find something to do during the day since I have work. You can use whatever you want in this house; the television, computer, whatever. But I'm afraid if you don't want to cook you'll have to order in, there's a stash of money on your desk beside the computer. If you ever run out just tell me." He smiled, "My house is your house."
Tatsuha listened politely to the offer, then scratched his head a little. "Dude... you've never actually spoken much to my brother, have you?"
Suguru blinked, "Yuki-san? Of course I've spoken to him before. A few small conversations only though."
"See?" Tatsuha nodded. "If you'd ever talked talked to him, you'd know better than to try to be all hostly and stuff. He would have warned you that I'm likely to take advantage of your generosity. I'm like a stray animal you can't get rid of."
Suguru smiled, "It's fine, the house is plenty big enough for the two of us." He gestured to the enormous guest room.
"No. Really. Don't say things like that. You'll regret it." Despite himself, Tatsuha grinned.
"Then I'll regret it when I regret it." Suguru returned the grin.
"Promise you'll kick me out when you're tired of me?"
Suguru frowned, "I doubt that, but... Alright, I guess so." He nodded.
"Promise," Tatsuha demanded, crossing his arms.
Suguru sighed, "Alright, alright I promise." He nodded giving in.
"Good." That was settled then. He could safely stay without worrying about actually wearing out his welcome. Too much. Tatsuha walked into the room, stopping by the bed to give it a few experimental bounces with his hand. Satisfied, he jumped, twisting in midair to land on his back in the center. "Ohh yeah, this is nice. So, when's breakfast?"
