My mother is a gorgeous soul with southern roots who has always found joy in bluegrass music, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been the foundation of her life, and she has always put others before herself, offering help to anyone in need. For the past 15 years, she managed bookkeeping and, more recently, worked at FedEx. Even when times were tough, she found ways to support our family and community.
Everything changed in March 2024 when she was diagnosed with cancer. At first, she tried to keep working, even driving for Uber, but her illness quickly made that impossible. After a difficult surgery to remove a tumor, she faced even more challenges, including the loss of her rectum and the ability to work. Despite chemo and radiation, the cancer returned a year later, spreading to her lung and liver. Refusing to give up, she sought biochemical treatment in Mexico—a safer but much more expensive option. To pay for this, she took out a significant loan. She still has two more trips to Mexico for treatment, and her daily life now revolves around a strict diet and a dozen different home therapies, leaving little time or energy for anything else.
We are walking through one of the hardest seasons of our lives, and we truly need the Lord now more than ever. If you feel led to help—whether through prayer, sharing this page, or donating—we would be deeply grateful. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” —Psalm 34:19 (KJV)
