Listens: Darren Criss talking.

Long way from Conway (57 part 3/?)

Thanks to groffiction for this awesome banner :)

A/N: BIG chapter here! If it seems rushed: sorry. I'm kind of busy in RL land and I have a huge writers block today. But anyway, BE HAPPY JAMES :D Hope I did you good :) And the pics are at the end!

READ THIS--------> Due to James's (unpublicguy 's) request, Ben is now played by David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly Place. So, his full name is now David Ben Henrie, not Duncan Ben James. Just had to clear that up :)

ENJOY! Oh, and my tumblr is here: glambertrock.tumblr.com/ Follow me please if you still haven't! I follow back! :)

"Ben," James says over the phone angrily, "what the heck are you talking about, pushing the wedding back a day? Your freakin birthday is today and today only! I thought that was why we were getting married right now!"

Ben sighs deeply. "Just trust me, it's for the best."

"I swear, if you are having cold feet..."

"No, hell no. A few of our guests have....um...a family related problem that would effect the wedding a lot."

James groans. "If it's one family on my side, screw it. I'm wanting to get married now, regardless of them."

Ben laughs. "No...um, actually......it's with.....um...Adam and Kris."

"They're okay, right?"

Ben frowns. "Um...I don't really know."

"Ben, if they're in trouble, I want to help!"

"They've already gotten enough help from people, love. Just.....just relax. It's your wedding day tomorrow. You need to relax."

"I don't care, Ben, I need to help them!"

"Jessie's missing, okay?"

"What?"

"Crystal took Jessie. Adam and Kris were out on a walk and-"

"Those idiots! Ben, I'm going to get her now."

"James," Ben snaps, "no. Adam and Kris have enough help. You don't need to risk anything being there for no reason. I don't need you getting hurt before the happiest day of your life, James. I don't."

James sighs. "She better be okay, Ben."

"She will be. Now just relax and please, don't go looking for her. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Love you."

"Love you, too."

------------------------------------------

"Guys, I think I can hear her," Brad yells as he runs with the dog and the trainer, followed by the other officers. "CRYSTAL! STOP, PLEASE!"

"Whoa," one guy says, stopping the group, "look. It's a path!"

"I think I can see a cabin," another officer says, his dog sniffing the ground excitedly. "We should check there."

Brad gulps. "Okay, listen to me. Me, my dog and his trainer will keep going forward. You guys need to go search the cabin."

"I don't think I can trust you," the head officer says, looking at Brad suspiciously. "You are too involved with this case to be fully trusted and-"

"Let him go," Adam suddenly says, catching up with the search group with Kris by his side. "Brad's a good guy. I....I wouldn't trust my daughter's life with anyone else."

"Me too," Kris says in agreement, sending a smile Brad's way. Brad smirks.

"Thanks."

"Go and get her."

"Will do."

And with that, the search was on the way....

-----------------------------------------------------

"Okay......I think we'll be safe here," Crystal whispers soothingly to Jessie, seeing the little girl watch her blankly. "Considering they'll be looking for us frantically, they may pass by us if we stay quiet. Plus, the barking stopped, so they may not even have the dogs with them. We may get away with this."

She crouches down behind the large oak tree and then shifts her weight so that they are now also hidden inside a very thick bush. Jessie starts to fuss as soon as she stills, and it makes her angry.

"You little idiot, shut the hell up! You're going to get us cau-"

"Who goes there?"

Crystal immediately stops speaking and covers up Jessie's mouth with her hand, muffling her fusses just a tiny bit. Suddenly, footsteps are heard coming closer and closer, and the faint sound of a dog sniffing is heard. Crystal could cry, she's so scared.

"Whoever you are, come out with your hands up!"

Crystal gulps and then reaches slowly down to her pocket, clutching tightly the only defense she has. Then, in one swift movement, she jumps out from the bushes with Jessie in hand and the defense pointed directly at the two people and the dog.

She easily recognized Brad.

"You," she says in a terrified voice. "You need to not get any closer! I can shoot this thing! I did it to Adam and I can just as easily do it to you!"

"Crystal," Brad replies calmly, sensing her fragile state at the moment, "you need to stop. Before you do something you'll regret."

"Like what? I'm protecting my daughter from getting raised by such horrible people!"

"Adam and Kris are her family and deserve to not go through this crap. You need to hand Jessie over and go down gracefully."

"Never."

"Crystal, if you are wanting what's best for Jessie, giving her up is what you need to do. You are going to jail sometime for what you've done, so are you really going to run everywhere and have her live in fear for the rest of her life? Not being able to meet people or go to school because her mother is hiding? Do you really want that from her?"

Crystal bites her lip. "I'd shut up if I were you."

"Give us Jessie. Now, Crystal, before we have to get her by force."

"I will shoot, Brad!"

"You shoot," Brad says to her seriously, eyes fixated on Jessie, "you'll never get back the life you once had."

"Fine."

And then it happens.

Crystal aims her gun directly at Brad and fires, the bullet flying faster than he can even react to. The trainer immediately shoots at her, a bullet hitting her in the leg and in the arm opposite of Jessie, and Crystal falls. Jessie, thankfully, stays in her arm, unharmed but crying. The trainer then runs up to her radioing in what just happened and picks up Jessie, clutching her close. Looking over to Brad, he can see him wincing in pain, clutching his arm tightly.

"Hey, you okay?"

"I think it just grazed me," Brad says back in pain. "Is Jessie okay?"

The guy nods. "She landed on Crystal. Don't worry, I've got the team coming here. They'll help you with your arm."

Crystal groans. "What the hell, man! I'm dying here!"

"You'll be fine," he says, handcuffing her carelessly. "Now, be quiet."

Suddenly, running from the woods in the path cleared, Adam, Kris, and a few officers come bounding up to the scene. Half of the eyes are on Brad, the other half are on Crystal, and then....

...then there are two focusing on the little bundle in the trainer's arms.

"Oh my gosh," Adam loudly exclaims, running up to the man, "is she okay?"

The guy smiles. "She's fine. I managed to stop Crystal without harming her, thank God. Here, take her."

With that, Adam gets reunited with her, tears in his eyes. Her blue eyes stare up at him and practically sparkle, as if she knows that everything is okay now. Leaning down, he places a tearful kiss on her forehead and then breaks down crying. Kris comes up behind him and wraps his arm around Adam, gazing at their daughter with his own tears blocking the view.

"She's safe."

"Thank God."

-----------------------------------------------------

"We are all gathered here today to join these two men, Ben and James, as they enter the wonderful world of togetherness through matrimony..."

The wedding so far was beautiful. James looked perfect, his outfit simply dazzling, and Ben complimented him wonderfully. Jessie had gotten to be the flower girl with the help of her two fathers regardless of the previous hell that happened earlier in the day, looking simply adorable in her yellow flowery dress. The whole thing was gorgeous so far, and the best part of it all was that Brad, even with a wound on his arm from the bullet grazing him, got to still come and enjoy the ceremony with Cassidy right at his side.

"They look so perfect," Adam whispers to Kris as he keeps Jessie happy with a toy. "I....I can't believe that just this morning-"

"Hey," Kris whispers back, "don't think of that. It's over. The trial starts tomorrow and everything will end soon. Just enjoy this moment."

"I'll try."

"And now is the time where the couple will like to share their vows."

Ben smirks. "I'll go first."

James smiles. "'Kay."

"James......ever since I first met you, you've always compelled me in the most wonderful of ways. You really brought me to the point where I wouldn't dare live a day without wanting to see you or feel you or hear your lovely voice. You changed me and brought me away from a past I really shouldn't have dived into in the first place. Without you saving me....I probably would not be where I am today and probably would be miserable. I love you so much for that and....and no matter what I do or what we go through.....I promise you.....never, and I mean never.....never will I leave you. I love you more than anything in this world, James, and to think that we can spend our anniversary on my birthday every year? It'd be such a celebration, huh?"

The whole crowd giggles.

"I'm forever yours, James. No matter what you think, I'm yours and no one elses. I love you."

James wipes his eyes and smiles, a chuckle escaping his lips.

"I guess it's my turn, huh? Ben.....you are just wonderful. You bring me up when I am down....you love me when I have no one else to love.....you make me happier than anything. If I were to be with any other guy, I don't think I'd be as happy as I am with you. I...I can't describe my feelings to you through words. Just....well...."

And with that, he leans forward and kisses Ben, making the crowd giggle and some cheer. Pulling back, Ben and James exchange a huge smile.

"I love you."

"Love you, too."

"May I have the rings, please?"

As soon as the ring bearer gives them the rings, the minister smiles.

"Please repeat after me, Ben. With this ring."

"With this ring," Ben says, putting the ring on James' finger.

"I thee wed."

"I thee wed."

Then, James took his ring and put it on Ben's finger, saying the same words. Finally, the big moment came.

"David Ben Henrie, do you take this man, "James Walker, to be your lawfully wedded husband? To love and to hold, in sickness and health, for rich or for poor, for as long as you both shall live?"

Ben smirks. "I do."

"And do you, James Walker, take this man, David Ben Henrie, to be your lawfully wedded husband? To love and to hold, in sickness and health, for rich or for poor, for as long as you both shall live?"

James smiles and wipes a tear from his eye. "I do."

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you both husbands. Ben, you may kiss your groom."

With that, the two kissed, and everyone clapped, the ceremony coming to a close and the two lovers joined forever by love.

Now, the fun came that the whole group deserved to have: The after party.

------------------------------------------------------

"They look like they are having a blast," Adam says as he watches Ben dance happily with James on the dance floor, the lights dark and the beat pounding. "I can't imagine how awesome this day must be for them. First Jessie gets found, then they get to celebrate their love...."

"It's got to be fantastic."

"Hey, Adam says with a smirk as 'The Edge Of Glory' comes over the speakers, "come here."

Kris smirks back. "What are you doing?"

"Dance with me."

"Adam-"

"Dance," he says, pulling Kris off his feet and over to the dance floor. Kris laughs and then waves to his little girl as Leila plays with her at their table. Adam laughs along with him and then kisses Kris on the nose.

"What was that for?"

"Being the most beautiful man in my life."

"Adam-"

"Let's get married."

"What?"

Adam laughs. "Kris, let's get married. Jessie deserves it and after seeing how happy Ben and James are....I want to make you mine forever. Please?"

"Adam, I don't-oh my gosh, what are you doing?"

Everyone on the dance floor turns and smirks as Adam kneels down on one knee, his hands holding on of Kris'. Kris swallows hard.

"What are you doing?"

"Kristopher Neil Allen-"

"Oh my gosh."

"-will you-"

"Holy crap."

"-marry me?"

Ben, who just happened to be behind Kris, laughs and whispers 'say yes' in Kris's ear before going back to kiss his love and watch. Kris gulps and then, with a twinkle in his eye, kisses Adam's hands and says:

"Yes."

It really was, like everyone there that day thought, a happy ending.....

........and a new beginning.
