More procrastination
I’ve had a horrible, awful, no good thought.
I was trawling youtube for nostalgic video clips, as you’re wont to do on a slow Saturday morning, when I came across the opening theme from Lucky Luke and was struck with the sudden certainty that Luke, from when regarded from certain angles, is somewhat similar to John Sheppard. The more I thought about it, the more it seemed right.
The similarities are there, and they’re jarring. They both have that same ambling gait, the propensity to chew on pieces of straw (Luke only started in 1983 as a weapon in his fight against his nicotine addiction), and share a love of thigh holsters and guns, for one thing. That’s not the worst of it though.
John Sheppard has his puddlejumper, right? Well, Lucky Luke has his faithful steed (the smartest horse in the world, according to Wikipedia) Jolly Jumper. I’ll just let you swirl that around in your head for a while. Jolly Jumper.
And look at the Daltons. Go on, look at them:
Now, admit it, they’re dead ringers for Kolya. I’m thinking the genii used his corpse in a cloning experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong.
It’s at times like this I wish I were a vidder. Or a fanartist, come to think of it.
Also, this makes me miss all my old Lucky Luke and Asterix comic albums.
Gah, it's 3 PM already? No wonder I'm hungry. I need to go to the store.
