Summary: Kagome practices her archery.
"Geeze, Kagome, you really suck at this."
Kagome narrowed her eyes. Three visits to her time and he was already picking up slang. It wasn't her fault that she had never touched a bow before she was snatched out of her time into the past by Mistress Centipede. No matter what he might have believed, she was not Kikyo, nor would she ever be Kikyo. The art of archery was something totally foreign to Kagome, something she had never given thought to. She was a normal high school student who was more interested in her studies and spending time with her friends than picking up an art that would make Grandpa follow her around preaching the history of the 'most noble art of Kyudo'. Inuyasha was expecting her to work magic; he wouldn't take into consideration that she was wet behind the ears. The first time she had ever held a bow she shattered the Shikon Jewel. Memories of the flash the jewel made in the sky wasn't exactly the best incentive to want to learn and master the art of the bow.
She took a deep breath and eyed the hay target with the paper bullseye that Kaede had set up for her. "I can do this." She took a deep breath and readied the bow. Once comfortable with feel of the bow in her hands, she pulled the arrow back and aimed. "Hit the mark, hit the mark..." Chanting her mantra under her breath, she let the arrow fly. She smiled when it hit the side of the target. It wasn't quite on the paper bullseye, on the edge if anything, but it was one step closer.
"At least you hit the target this time," Inuyasha said as he walked to the target to retrieve the arrow.
