Sandragora is a fiend in Final Fantasy X found on the Bikanel Island. It can be easily avoided as it is visible on the terrain in quicksand pits, but it serves as a great source of AP for the coming battles.
In the International/PAL, and HD Remaster versions, one appears after the defeat of Dark Ifrit and apparently devours his summoner while the latter is trying to escape.
Stats
Battle
The Sandragora's Seed Burst has a 100% chance to inflict Confusion. Unlike its other relatives, Grat and Ragora, it cannot be captured for the Monster Arena.
Sandragora will drop armor with Poison Ward and/or HP +5% or 10%. They will also drop weapons with Poisontouch, and/or Magic +3%/Strength +3%.
Sandragora is a decent enemy to farm Remedies and Musks from, as the monster can be fled from and engaged again an unlimited number of times.

Etymology
Sandragora is a portmanteau of "sand" and "mandragora". Mandragora is a plant belonging to the nightshade family. According to legends surrounding witchcraft, when mandragoras (Mandrake plants) are uprooted, they emit a piercing scream which kills all who hear it.
