Mastiff is an Imperial Army/Imperial-type enemy in Final Fantasy XII found in various Archadian structures. It is a dog under the control of Imperial Soldiers. Like most Imperial enemies, Mastiffs are not difficult to kill. They do not count as Imperials for battle chains.

There are three different models for the mastiff, one for every location it is found in: in the Dreadnought Leviathan, they wear brown armor; in Draklor Laboratory, they wear gray armor; in the Sky Fortress Bahamut, they look more like wolves (with a shorter tail) and wear green armor.

Note: All "Imperial" soldiers share one bestiary entry.

Dogs specially trained for battle. Their ability to follow commands and unswerving loyalty make them a vital part of the Imperial war machine. Training takes place at the hands of skilled "beast tamers", with a mastiff usually requiring two to three years before it is ready to see combat.
