Deckdrone is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII.

    Stats

    Battle

Deckdrone attacks by kicking, dealing two hits of 31-35 damage. After four kicks, it charges briefly for Tornado Kick which deals two lightning-elemental hits, the damage of which is based on the number of Deckdrones in the field. One or two, the hits deal 134-140 damage; three, 336-350 damage; four, 571-596 damage; five or more, 1,008-1,050 damage. If only one Deckdrone remains, it only attacks with basic kicks.

It is imperative to defeat as many Deckdrones as possible to reduce the power of Tornado Kick. Its damage can be halved with Barthunder and further reduced with Protect, but five or more Deckdrones attacking the same target will kill said target unless they are a Sentinel.

A good opening paradigm is Guerrilla (RAV/SYN/SAB) or Bully (COM/SYN/SAB), able to bestow the required status enhancements and inflict Curse and Slow on Deckdrone. Tornado Kick cannot be interrupted outside of stagger, but Deckdrone can be prevented from using it with constant attacks.

Odin can be summoned as a last resort if too many Deckdrones are about to use Tornado Kick.

    Etymology

A drone or UAV is an aircraft without any human pilot, crew or passengers on board. They can range from being remote controlled by human operators, to fully autonomous.

The last part of its Japanese name translates as Matrose. Matrose is German for "sailor".
