Fujin sat at the bar with her head resting on her folded arms. She was staring into the empty glass in front of her unblinking and unheeding to the sounds going on around her. She heaved a sigh and pulled her thoughts together and slowly sat up and turned to look at Seifer who was sitting beside her. "FOUR?"
He nodded and tilted his head back, taking another swig of beer. “That’s how long Raijin and I were gone.”
Fujin shuddered and turned about on the stool to lean against the bar. "I DIDN'T FEEL THE FOUR HOURS," she told him and stretched. She watched the dancers on the dance floor for a short time before saying, "WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED?"
“I… dunno.” Seifer also turned around. “Have you talked to Raijin about it?”
"RAIJIN?" She gave a short bark of laughter. "AS GOOD A FRIEND AS HE IS, HE IS NOT THE SHARPEST BLADE ON THE RACK." Fujin told him. "HE WOULD SHRUG AND SAY 'WHAT WOULD SEIFER SAY?' RIGHT?"
Seifer cocked an eyebrow. “And I’d say… What the fuck?”
"I'VE NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE. WHAT FORCE COULD POSSIBLY MAKE SOME ONE LOSE FOUR HOURS?"
“You didn’t drink anything, did you?” he asked. “Or maybe forget to eat?”
"IT WASN'T LIKE THAT. I DIDN'T PASS OUT, I WAS LEAVING TO GO TO THE BAR, AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW I'M IN THE BATH TUB. I SAY WHAT THE HELL?!"
“You’re not the only one!” Seifer said defensively and sighed.
"DO I NEED TO WHISPER?"
He grinned. “People might not stare so much.”
"I'll give it a try." she told him and heaved a sigh.
He reached out and touched her shoulder. “It’ll be alright,” he told her. “We’ll find out what’s up, kay?”
"I hope so. I don't want to DISAPPEAR or anything."
“That was underhanded,” he muttered, taking another drink.
"Didn't mean it like that,” she told him a bit chagrined.
He blinked. “Oh.” With a sigh, he turned back in his chair and rested his head on the bar, pillowed in his arms. “You won’t disappear,” he told her. “I won’t let you.”
"Thanks." she got up and stretched. "Raijin should be here soon. I hope, so long as no one else loses time like that."
