::deep breath::
Okay... I think I'd better say something now - before things go haywire here. I don't have access to all the information, so I'll be very general. I'm not attacking anyone personally so please don't get that impression. This goes for everyone.
Something very similar to what I'm about to go into just happened in the other lj game I'm in and someone was asked to leave the game because of it. I am not a rule nazi. I consider myself fairly easy going, even - not the uber-bitch I claim to be sometimes. I don't want to ask anyone to leave - and I won't unless the situation becomes unbearable. We're all adults here, yes? Quite honestly, because I've been away from the computer for the past few days, I'm not in possession of all the facts so I'm not going to point fingers and accuse anyone based on obscurities but I think I'd better point out some things that should be fairly obvious.
First of all, I know I haven't been online much in the past few days, but school has started and I'll probably be tied up in that until the semester smoothes out. I'd like to apologize for that - and also for the fact that I have a very difficult class to take, so my time will be limited, I assure you.
Second of all, if you have a problem with someone else in the game, email me. I'll post it again: ZalieSiren@hotmail.com - don't take matters into your own hands and start sniping. That only makes am angsty mess. If someone is doing something to personally offend you, then I need to know about it, okay? There are ways to diffuse situations without throwing your hands up and screaming at each other. If, however, you do decide that I'm a lazy bitch and take matters into your own hands - making said mess, I will put on a rule-nazi hat and ask you to leave.
Thirdly. The characters are taken on a first come, first serve basis. If someone took the character you really wanted - I'm sorry. They were here before you. This includes second characters - but I'm cutting things off at two. Any more than two characters per player and things get ridiculous.
Fourthly. This applies to number three. If someone is playing a character that they have taken - that character is theirs. I'd like to repeat that. It's their character. If they're not playing that character to your specific liking, I'm sorry. You have two options open to you: 1) suck it up and deal or 2) make reasonable suggestions to that player - whether or not that player will take your suggestions to heart is another matter and up to them entirely. Whatever you do, don't start attacking that player personally, okay? I'm NOT saying anyone has done anything like that - quite honestly, I don't know - I just don't want it to happen at all. You as a player have the right to play your chosen character however you see fit and you should be able to do so without other players nitpicking at you. This goes for everyone. Any attacking on a personal level is grounds for being asked to leave, right?
Right then.
Seeing as I'm not asking anyone to leave, you can pretty much rest assured that any of the above has not happened on a truly serious level - or that if it has, those involved have chosen not to get into it with me, which is fine - so long as the issue is resolved in a mature manner. If I hear any more on it or if anything else related to it goes on, you can bet I'll be sticking my mod-ing-nose in. So long as all involved are willing to put it behind them and get on with the game, I'm not going to worry right this second. No hard feelings, right? If there are, I need to know - pronto - kay? I can't do anything concrete about anything unless I know about it.
We're still in the teething stages as far as RPGs go - and I'd like to point out that you've all be wonderful so far! Better than I had any reason to hope for and I really hope that things continue this way. Like I said, if you have any problems at all - let me know, kay?
'Kay.
