UnderLucius is a fan writer who has written stories in Harry Potter and various other fandoms. She writes original fiction under the name Erastes. Most of her work is NSFW and includes slash ships such as Lucius Malfoy/Harry Potter, Severus Snape/Lucius Malfoy, and Remus Lupin/Severus Snape.
She joined Harry Potter fandom in late 2003[1] and was active in Mary Renault fandom by 2005.[2] In July 2006, UnderLucius announced that she would be stepping away from fandom.[3] She cited that the fandom communities she was in were becoming inactive and that she wanted to move onto original writing instead. As of 2020, her old LiveJournals remained inactive, but she was active on Twitter and posted quite a bit about The Archers, a BBC radio soap opera. Her Twitter bio links to her profic website, which is now offline.[4]
A 2010 interview with Out about her professional M/M romance novels describes her beginnings as a slash writer:
While looking for 'anything online involving the Snape character,' Erastes recalls, she stumbled onto Snape Fuh-Q Fest, an online archive of fan fiction where Snape, to her delight, was 'having sex with any character in the series you can think of.' For Erastes it was a eureka moment -- she began to write her own Harry Potter slash.[5]
