Grimm started again

So hey, Grimm started up again! I feel like this is a very weird time for it to start - the kids aren't even in school yet, how can there be fall TV? I don't have time for this yet!

OK, so we watched the first 2 eps and since they were a 2-parter, this will be about both eps and will be just quick bullet points because I have a kid to get to bed in a few minutes.

Grimm
So het, Mama Grimm is pretty scary! Also, not really trustworthy I think. Or maybe she is and she just like to lurk in her son's life rather than be a part of it. I mean, I'm guessing the reason she didn't go toss the ring, er coins into the pit of fire in Mordor is so she could check out this whole Prince in Seattle thing? Or she plans to use them as leverage somehow. In any case, she didn't trust Nick or wanted to protect him or something. Pretty much the only thing we can say for sure is she has mad fighting skills. Also, there was something fishy about her husband and "friend" dying in the car crash, that's all I'm saying.

I did love the meeting with Mama, Monroe and Rosalee - how she couldn't get over that Nick was friends with Wessen creatures. That he trusted them and they trusted him. I wonder if the big issue is that Monroe is a Blutbad, and therefore much more dangerous than if Nick had befriended Rosalee the foxbaum or one of the beaver folk. I like how it shows how different Nick is from other Grimm, because I think that's one of the reasons he's a hero - that he sees people for who they are rather than what.

I really liked that Juliette's Sleeping Beauty story didn't have Nick wake her up with love's true kiss, but that Renard did it after having to purify himself in an extremely unpleasant way. I find Renard's motivations unclear, but whatever. So is he part hexenbeist then? That would explain why he trusts them so much.

Well, if Juliette had to lose her memory, I'm glad it wasn't just the day before she lost, meaning she only wouldn't remember Nick's confession to her. I'm glad that she lost all of it, so now Nick has to work to win her back. I mean, maybe they just wanted to add an element of will they/won't they get back together in which case whatever, but... It could be sweet. And maybe this time Nick will tell her the truth in a better way.

He really needs to tell Hank - Hank knows something is up and he's supportive of Nick, but he's also having a lot of issues because of what he saw. I think he could handle it and I think Nick should tell him. It will be interesting if they begin the season with a turn around from how it ended, with last season Juliette finding out but not Hank and maybe this season Hank being told while Juliette doesn't remember.

Oh, hate with a passion the new beginning. It's just... over the top and too portentious for what is a quirky, fun show with a flare for the grotesque.

Overall, still like the show. :)
