Home Repair & Renovation Services (CHIP)
**TEMPORARY NOTICE** (AS OF 7-1-25)
Due to limited staff capacity and uncertain federal funding for the Community Housing Improvement Program, we will be pausing adding any additional of CHIP Clients to our existing waitlist until further notice. We understand the impact this may have on your home and your family. We encourage you to continue to keep CHIP as a future resource, should your home improvement needs continue to exist in the future. Should you continue to need help, our partners at Homage Senior Services and Snohomish County both provide minor home rehabilitation programs. While your housing improvement needs may exceed some of the improvement efforts for these programs, they are skilled resources for addressing immediate needs without considerations of loans or other encumbrances. Please continue to check our website and contact information for when our capacity is able to open back up.
PLEASE NOTE >>>> IF YOUR SITUATION WOULD ALLOW YOU TO WAIT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE, YOU MAY GO AHEAD AND APPLY AND BE ADDED TO OUR WAITLIST, HOWEVER WE WOULD BE UNABLE TO GUARANTEE IF/WHEN YOU COULD BE ASSISTED. PROJECTS WOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY WERE RECIEVED.

The City of Everett offers home repair and renovation services through its Community Housing Improvement Program. CHIP is a HUD funded community service to rehabilitate housing for low and moderate income families in the city limits of Everett and urban growth areas. CHIP has funds available for owner-occupied and non-owner occupied housing rehabilitation. Loans are based on available home equity.
Once a client qualifies, a CHIP Inspector will inspect the home, assist with recommendations of the most important work to be completed, write detailed bid specifications, obtain bids from CHIP approved contractors, and monitor the construction work. There is no charge to the client for these services. Minority and disabled individuals are encouraged to apply.
