About the Board
The Everett Cultural Arts Commission, established in 1974, is a citizen advisory board composed of 11 members appointed by the mayor and City Council. Commission members include:
- Artists
- Arts professionals
- Citizens with strong links to Everett’s arts community
Responsibilities
- Develop city cultural arts policies and initiatives
- Serve as the reviewing body for 1% of art-funded projects and programming and capital grants to arts organizations including the Cultural Arts Grants.
- Awards and hosts the Wendt and Mayor’s Arts Awards.
Full Commission Meetings
The next hybrid full commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 5 p.m. The full commission meets quarterly on the second Tuesday in September, December, March and June.

Subcommittee Meetings
In 2024, the commission voted to move to a subcommittee workflow model, and the subcommittees are as follows:
- Public Art
- Placemaking and Events
- Development and Outreach
Outside of the quarterly meetings, commissioners and subject matter experts will meet monthly to further initiatives in those three areas in the other months. Subcommittee meetings are open to community members.
The commission takes a break from meetings in July and August.
