How do I enroll in an assigned neighborhood school?
Every child that lives within Los Angeles Unified boundaries can enroll in their assigned neighborhood school at any time. You can look up your home address in our Resident School Identifier. Families may also contact any school and request assistance locating their assigned neighborhood school.
- One Enrollment Online Portal
The One Enrollment portal lets you enroll online for new TK–12th grade students, including those joining the Virtual Academy or City of Angels, for the current school year and enroll for the following school year, beginning in mid-March.
- Paper Enrollment
Paper enrollment packets and additional enrollment support is available at each school. Please contact the school for more information.
How do I apply to other Los Angeles Unified schools?
New and continuing students may apply to any of our many school choice programs before or after enrolling.
- Choices Programs: Apply for CHOICES programs beginning in October, annually.
- Open Enrollment: Apply for Open Enrollment beginning near the end of April, annually.
- Learning at Home: Apply for the six Virtual Academies or City of Angels Independent Studies program.
- Intra-district Permits: Contact your assigned neighborhood school to learn more about an Intra-District Permit (LAUSD school to LAUSD school).
How do I apply to a Los Angeles Unified school from another district?
Los Angeles Unified welcomes students from other districts! Students who live outside Los Angeles Unified boundaries can apply to attend our schools. Inter-district permits require release from the district of residence and acceptance by the Los Angeles Unified school of interest. Incoming Inter-District permits are accepted all year long.
Students who live outside Los Angeles Unified may also apply for the following Choices programs:
- Affiliated Charters (Inter-district permit not required)
- Multilingual Multicultural Education Programs (Inter-district Permit required) Early/Middle Colleges (Inter-district Permit required)
